Noboru was reduced to a blubbering mess. He had only heard stories of the banshee before. They were terrifying because they could easily exploit fears and trauma ingrained into the soul. On The Surface existed a similar race, the Kelpie. But unlike the banshee, who generally appeared neutral or benevolent, Kelpie used their powers to drown their victims and devour them. His master had once said it was best to avoid either of the troublesome races. To sit before a banshee who only reached up to Sayuri's chin and had innocent looks was something he'd wished to have never experienced. In a way, he was thankful that his sister was on more… amicable terms with him.
Eventually, the Fae's shadows decreased and dissipated. The overwhelming sense of anxiety began to fade.
Just as it was about to disappear completely, the young man drove his hand into Sayuri's body. However, it was his ethereal self that did so. Noboru felt something clasp his heart, causing panic.
