"Jade..." Malcolm was careful to touch me this time. "I'm sorry."
"No, it's okay." I fake a smile. What done is done, and with my situation right now? I don't think my father will not leave us alive. Now that my mother mentioned how he had straight loses from his gambling. He's not even good at all playing those shits, but he still continue. Because he likes to gamble more than getting a work to support us. I hate him more than my own life.
"At least eat something, and then take a rest." He offered. "If you need my room, it's free to use, I'll be cleaning it for you while you eat."
"Wait," I held his hand when he was about to stand up from the sofa. "You don't have girlfriends visiting you today?"
"Girlfriends?" He laughed.
"What? You've got tons of girlfriends that you even schedule them everyday so you won't get caught." I snort. "Talk about that body, George Malcolm Davidson."
"Yeah, I cancelled it." He plainly said, still smiling.
"That's new."
"Because I reserved the room for you," then he winked at me. I threw him a pillow but it landed elsewhere so he grinned victoriously.
"You know what," I pout my lips, and hold the spoon as I stared at the bowl. "Just now I wondered, you are the real bitch here."
"You're welcome," his smile had warmed me, it left me blushing. I know this time he noticed it that's why he let another undeniably charming laugh before proceeding to work on his things.
I enjoyed the soup, although it was quite cold now. My thoughts were back at the house, thinking about my mother and Emerald. Today might be weekend but I felt guilty because I lied to gee that I'll be attending some cheerleader practice this morning, but the reality is, I just wanna get myself away from my father. Away from the trauma I had last night.
And now I regret it, why I left my family there. What if he went aggressive again and hurt them? My mither won't fight back no matter what, and Emerald, she's just seven years old!
I bit my lip and stood up to finish the bowl. I have to relax, and calm myself down, that's why I changed my environment and stayed at Malcolm's for the mean time, otherwise, I won't be able to control myself anymore and I might kill him the way how he slowly kil my family. Still, I'm thinking going back at lunch since I cannot handle my guilt sometimes, and to watch over them.
After cleaning the dishes and arranging the pillows once more, I made myself to the bathroom. Seeing water makes me feel relaxed, so I decided to stayed there.
My thoughts were all in once again, as I remember all my memories with Stephen. From the time I met him, as a Madelaine, and not the famous Jade, all the way how we fell in love naturally. We were so idealistic and happy, and we talked about future.
That's where I realized, maybe he was right. Maybe he get tired of waiting at me, or maybe he wasn't able to tell anymore which side of personality he'll love now. Stephen was just a normal guy, not rich, not popular, but he was the greatest love of my life.
My mind was still busy on that thought when I felt that my phone vibrated.
"Ugh, come on, not another hangouts," I groaned, as I opened the text message.
One message from Chace.
Chace: Hey shawty what's up
Chace: I've got a friend who needs a blind date, the billionaire
Chace: You in?
I tapped in the button to reply.
You: How much?
Then Chace replied no words, but just a laughing emoji. Ugh, this guy, I never know why I'd become friends with him when sometimes people issue me towards him that we were couple, when the reality is, we're both bitches around school campus. Two birds with the same feather flock together, not fuck together. People has to understand that.
Chace: You won't be asking his features? Or anything?
You: Bitch what's the use of blind date
Chace: Lol okay HAHAHA
Chace: Is ten thousand dollars fine with you already
Chace: And please don't tell him that I paid you, otherwise he would not show up, believe me. He even hate this idea of setting him up for a date, so please, help me babe
You: Is he billionaire? Make it fifteen you cheap
Chace: Lol what, I am the one paying you, not the billionaire, I can't afford it dang
You: Okay, bitch, it's a deal
Chace: I'll forward you the info, thanks love
I was left staring at my phone for a while even after the conversation had ended. All of a sudden, my series of dramatic thoughts towards break up had put into halt. I never come to think money will be the main reason why.
Suddenly I feel motivated. Well, I may be broken but at least I'll be having ten thousand dollars. Bitch please, I could easily move on with that thought.
"Stop crying," I said to myself, while staring at the mirror. "You don't want to appear to your date with these puffy eyes, Madelaine Jade."
I moved out of the comfort room and headed to Malcolm's room for me to prepare what to wear, and the bag that I am going to use. But everything went wrong the moment I went inside in.
"Jesus Christ, Jade!" Malcolm shouted.
"George Malcolm Davidson!" I screamed, as I covered both of my eyes.
"Get a room, you freak!"
"This is my room!"
"Can't you just?!"
"What?!" He growled back at me.
"Aah, no freaking way!" I screamed once more, much longer, and because I only do that in a bitch form, the tone of my voice was a little higher than usual. It was such a scream that any guy would hear to hate, including my best friend.
