Chereads / Twins of Emeralda / Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 05

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 05

He was nervously pacing outside their house waiting for her to come out, just then the door opened and she came out on her own. Wearing a light blue mini dress that hugged her figure perfectly with a gold disk pendant hanging on her chest. He hugged her and whispered to her ear ''you are truly beautiful Gaby!''.

She just smiled and hopped into the backseat of the car as he held the car door open for her, he sat beside her as the driver drove them to a nearby restaurant.

Only few people were around, so they found a nice spot and sat there after pressing their order. Chris gazed carefully at her face and realised something was off.. the girl in front of him was not his beloved friend Gaby but her twin sister Izy.

"I am impressed you know how to keep promises these days.." He wanted to confirm something as he waited for her to speak.

Izy grinned as she said, "If I wasn't going to come then I would have never promised you that anyway, I think you should start to think positively of me now!"

He clenched his fists under the table disappointed at Gaby's action, "Ooh I see , the few days we haven't been together have changed you somehow, you even know how to explain yourself.!"

Izy shifted her gaze away from Chris as she smiled shyly. Chris already knew who she was, he never mistaken the twins since he knew Gaby very well she wasn't a person to give explanation easily. but the night was still young, he kept his silence until they were about to finish their meals.

He lifted his head up and constantly glared at Izy as she was digging in her food. She almost chocked on the water she was drinking when she noticed Chris' eyes glued on her face.

"What excuse did she have to send you here in her place?" He straightforwardly asked her.

Izy knew what he meant but she chose to act stupid, " Are you asking me that?"

Chris took a glance around their table and said. "Do you think am asking myself then?"

Izy remained silent thinking of better words to convince Chris to believe that she was Gaby.. its like he read her mind as he confronted her.. " I know how to differentiate the two of you so save your lies, and tell me now why are you here.."

The air between them turned cold as she felt goosebumps on her barearms from the tone he used on her, " I will tell you everything but you need to calm down first, you are frightening me!"

"Spit it out before I lose it!" He ordered her while his one hand was placed on the table as he tapped his fingers on the table impatiently.

She gathered her strength and placed her hand on top of his as she stuttered to speak, " I like you Chris, she just wished to bring us together for your good! She had no ill intentions.."

His eyes turned red from anger as he moved away his hand from her touch.."And you thought I would be happy to see you huh? You are so proud playing Gaby two! Don't you have your own cycle to hang with? Meddling in other people's affairs."

She stared on the floor silently avoiding his gaze, he suddenly held her hand and lifted her from the chair. He dragged her outside the restaurant griped her hands as he told her.." Tell Gaby I am disappointed and she better give me a better explanation when we meet.."

"And don't you ever try playing tricks with me cause I won't be this nice!" He threatened her.

Chris instructed his driver to send her home safely as he went back into the restaurant and drunk wine to process everything that the twins did to him, especially Gaby, she better declined his offer from the start than sending her twin sister to play her part.

The whole way Izy was crying still in disbelief of what happened earlie,no one has ever embarrassed her like that before, on top of it he was the nan that she liked but turned her down on a harsh way.

Instead of hating him she felled deeper in love with his personality, she was used to have men begging for her attention but this man was really different he even knew how to differentiate between her and her twin sister which was rare. Only her mother and grandfather knew to differentiate them, even though sometimes they mistakenly switched their names.
