Gianni divides a rectangular piece of softened butter into four. The prince presses the top of one piece leaving a mark. The butter has not melted but the consistency is soft.
"That is step one," Julien says. "Next, it says here, the yeast."
"It has to be mixed with milk and honey," Gianni reads the instruction on the piece of parchment. "When making bread, I do remember adding the yeast to the flour then molding it."
"I agree," Silas replies as he pours milk and honey on a bowl. "But this was Queen Helenessa's recipe, she may have made it differently."
Silas adds the yeast on the bowl and vigorously mixes it. He applied such force in mixing that the mixture became frothy and bubbly in no time.
In a separate area of the kitchen, Prince Julien mixes sugar, eggs, and egg yolks in a bowl. As he was about to add the peaches, Gianni stops him.
