Franz shivered the entire night but he complained multiple times that he felt hot. Gianni wrapped him in a blanket and placed a cool towel on his forehead. Using a mortar and pestle, he crushed garlic cloves and coriander seeds. He minced ginger and extracted its juice. He lyophilized lemon balm and black pepper. He then mixes all of them together in a bowl before adding two teaspoons of honey and a cup of water.
"Drink this, Franz," Gianni holds the sick man's head up bidding him to drink. "This will help with the fever."
Franz gulped the entire concoction. He immediately fell asleep. His symptoms alleviated through the night, but Gianni kept watch. He readied the ingredients for his medicine in case Franz would feel sick again. Throughout intervals, Gianni made the concoction and fed them to the former.
Suddenly, Gianni receives a knock. He opens it and sees Dale, one of his family's herbmasters and manager of the market.
