"Keep your dirty paws off the table" Judy scolded me jokingly and motioned for me to go wash my hands.
"Judy you know that I've already washed them twice right?" I raised my brows as she sighed.
"Ok just have them" she accepted defeat and let me attack her cookies.
She is one of the best bakers I know, even while being the sister of the alpha she still doesn't let anybody bake for her. That's because she loves to bake.
She still hasn't touched a single cookie which was weird " Are you alright?" I asked.
"Love, this whole thing is keeping Jacob busy and when he's busy, Steve is busy" she pouted.
Jacob, was her brother, or the alpha of our blood moon pack while Steve was his beta.
Last month when Judy turned 18, she found out Steve is her mate, that is when she found herself outside his room while following her mate's scent. They decided to keep it a secret from Jacob as they didn't know how he's gonna take it.
As far as I know, Jacob will be more than happy that his sister's mate is none other than his prestigious beta, which also meant Judy's gonna stay with him.
Our neighboring pack, the Silver moon pack has always been peaceful until something started happening with the alpha family. People say it's a curse but nobody knows.
Their alpha, Lucian has been rumored to kill his siblings for the position of the alpha. He is feared by all I know. Even Jacob, my alpha tries maintaining bonds with him.
Lucian has turned 23 but still hasn't found his mate which is terrifying for an alpha. Usually, the pack starts revolutionizing against their alpha if they haven't found their mate by 20 as an Alpha without his Luna is dangerous.
How his pack is still loyal to him, is extraordinary. Maybe this can mean he is terrifying. Maybe this can mean he is the right ruler, nobody knows the reason. The only thing people know is that they're scared of him.
"You know, all I would want right now is Alpha Lucian to be happy" Judy whispered losing at the ground rather than at me.
She broke me out of my stance.
Judy studied with Alpha Lucian when they were in middle school, as far as I know, they have been friends ever since.
She believes he was wronged.
"If that promises you sanity then I wish too, that he finds his mate" I smiled.
Alpha Lucian has planned a party tonight with unmated women from our territory as well as the territory next to ours, Crescent state pack.
Jacob has been busy talking to the alpha of the crescent state pack and arranging all of this.
"I think it's about time we get going," Judy said
"Yeah, we should get you ready for tonight"
She rolled her eyes, "well love, not only me, but you also need to get ready"
Ever since I lost my family a few years ago, she has been the only person in the world for me. She was just 5 years older than me but was so mature. I am grateful I met her.
I nodded and we packed the cookies for Steve and Jacob before leaving.

It has been a few hours into the party and I am somehow getting anxious with every passing minute.
Something is happening to me, I can feel it.
As Judy is busy meeting the alpha families, I have to alone make sure that everything is going right.
Till now, 2 old guys have tried convincing me to be their mate which was one of the creepiest things. When a werewolf loses his mate, the only way to survive is to mate with other women, which doesn't work in most cases but a few times does.
What happens if it doesn't work? If you ask me, the answer is that the mate bond makes them go even crazier and they end up killing the girl they were trying to mate with.
As much as I feel pity towards them, I'm not the one to take the chance of losing my mate and maybe even my life just to mate with an old rich man. No, please.
I haven't turned eighteen which makes them even surer of the fact that it will work, as I haven't yet found my mate, I won't have a bond yet.
I'm turning 18 next month which just leaves 20 precise days for me to meet my mate. It's exciting and I can't wait. I can still feel the connection to my mate but can't recognize him until I turn 18.
"Looks like Love is not having fun without the amazing alpha sister," Judy said cockily as I giggled. She had just returned after talking to other alphas who were also raising concerns regarding Alpha Lucian.
As for Alpha Lucian, he's not here yet.
"What will I ever do without you July" I intentionally call her with the wrong name to mess with her.
"Haha funny" she rolls her eyes " now if you please tell me where the hottest beta" she stops in mid-sentence and I see her eyes turning black.
Uh oh, somebody is not gonna make it to tomorrow.
I follow her gaze to see a young brunette talking to Steve and from what it appeared, pushing herself onto him.
I was just trying to recognize who the hell that was when a third person appeared in the frame.

Shit. My eyes went wide as I half ran and jogged to the heating scene, trying not to get many eyes on me.
But, I was late.
Before I could even hold Judy, she was holding something.

In horror, the girl turned to us. It was Stacey. I rolled my eyes and facepalmed myself.
Stacey has a habit of trying to flirt with wealthy men as she doesn't believe inmates.
Judy's claws started scratching Stacey's scalp as she started bleeding.
"Mine" Judy growled as now out of shock Steve hugged her to pull her apart.
"Shush Judy" whispered Steve as he successfully pulled Judy to his back.
"Anyone care explaining?" Said a new voice as everyone went blank.

Something caught my attention, I can't put my finger on it, but it was driving me crazy.
I was becoming reckless.
