Tasha noticed that Amanda had lost some of the spark and excitement from the day before. She had slept so well, especially with the soothing cool breeze that blew over after the storm. Her friend should have done that too but why did she look like a panda even though it was already mid-day when she had even done a rare facial mask treatment the night before.
"Well, maybe facial masks are not for her because they made her face and eyes swell," she whispered to herself and just went about her tasks without asking Amanda a thing.
Amanda was grateful for that because Tasha was known to be curious about everything and she did not want to blow things out of proportion as she needed to confirm everything. She still felt like the call she had was a dream.
She stubbled out of the bed and closed the laptop. She had at most an hour before her date and she was yet to wash up. She quickly went through her dress-up routine and was ready to leave in about half an hour.
"I'm going to see even less of you after this date," Tasha said thoughtfully while her eyes did a run-down of her friend. Amanda had decided on a white midi-bodycon dress for the date. It did accentuate her curves in all the right places. The dress looked totally made for her. She had added just a simple earring in the shape of a cloud and added a pair of low-heeled shoes to it. She just looked gorgeous! She had also let her shoulder-length hair loose around her shoulders.
Satisfied with what she saw, Tasha nodded her head and gave Amanda an okay sign.
"I'm not going to discard my girlfriend because of my new boyfriend, okay? I am not like that, and I will never be like that. Besides, he will just change labels, or probably add one more since he still is my best friend and soon-to-be-boyfriend" Amanda giggled as she let Tasha in on her thoughts. She blew Tasha a kiss and run out. "I will not miss this date for anything", she stated to herself as she parried towards her destination.

Amanda arrived on time at the restaurant and sighed with relief. She detested being late to anything in her life and this day was too precious for her to start it that way. She walked into the restaurant and frowned a bit as there wasn't a single soul in there apart from one waiter who was passing by just as she entered. She had chosen the 'Highway restaurant' because it was a popular dating spot, had secluded corners and that romantic ambience as well but she knew for a fact that it was always busy.
Dismissing the thoughts from her head, she turned and asked the waiter,
"Excuse me, sir, I have a reservation for two".
"Oh Yes, Ma'am, we've been expecting you".
"This way please?".
Amanda frowned again as she realised that she was not asked the name under which she had made the reservation. Shrugging a bit, she mused that they were really on top of their jobs and then made her way to her seat.
Eddy was late as usual. He was always late to everything, and Amanda was slightly disappointed that he chose to be late even on this date.
With nothing to do but wait, she studied the restaurant, she saw added décor that she did not ask for and slightly panicked. This was beyond her budget, "Did they get her order and reservation wrong?" she asked herself.
The place was also devoid of anyone but the staff. "I did not book the whole place though?" she muttered to herself thoughtfully,
"Hahaha.., as if I can do that, maybe it's just a slow day," she told herself in a consolation.
The restaurant was quite lavish and had a bar as well. As she studied her surroundings, she called the waiter and asked the question that had been brewing on her mind for some time; the reservation.
"Hello, is there an event here today? I only reserved a table for two but this atmosphere…" she left the remaining part of her question hanging as she stared at the waiter trying to read anything from him.
The man smiled and responded swiftly, "The reservation was modified this morning ma'am. It is under Eddy Samuels."
"Mr Samuels called in to reserve the whole restaurant as he has an important event planned."
"Oh, thank you for the information, sir", Amanda could not hide the excitement in her voice and the waiter observed this as well. The girl looked sweet enough and he was also looking forward witness the event. He hoped it will start before his shift ended though.
She had been waiting for about twenty minutes before Eddy walked majestically into the restaurant. He smiled, walked straight to her, and hugged her. Amanda returned the hug and they sat just staring at each other. Hahaahaha, they both burst out laughing. "It's about time you got here Eddy, why do you always arrive late everywhere", Amanda had a small pout as she asked him the question.
Eddy smirked and replied with all sincerity, "I'm sorry my love…"
Amanda did not hear anything he had said after that. All that was going through her head was,
"He called me 'my love', …"
"He called me 'my love', …"
"He called me 'my love', …"
"Errrm, Amanda, what do you think of it?" He interrupted her thoughts and asked.
"Think of what?", Amanda asked him back but when her eyes got focused on him, he was on one knee with a small velvet box in his hands, opened.
Amanda felt her world stop for a moment as her mind hyper run into different scenes. "Whatever guardian angel had descended today, please stay for a while longer because I do not want this beautiful dream to end." Amanda's eyes widened as she tried to remember what he had asked her. It was something about marrying…
"OMG!!!, did he just ask me to marry him?!"
