Yvonne sighed in her heart as she thought, "Mitch will never be able to harm or touch Amanda again,"
She observed Kelvin and the look he was giving Amanda then. It felt like he was looking at his all. Almost as if he had the world's most precious gem by his side.
"I mean what more can a mother ask for?" she bemused.
Yvonne shook the thoughts out of her head and said, "You make a mean breakfast Kelvin."
"I heard you made everything here yourself."
Kelvin smiled sheepishly at her but thankfully for him, Tasha answered for him… between mouthfuls, "Yes, he prepared everything and it's so yummy!" Her voice sounded muffled as she had taken a rather large bite.
Yvonne shook her head but did not reprimand her as she would have normally done because they were all in a very good mood.
And yummy the food was because they all finished every last bit of it.
"I'll do the dishes so you ladies can go and relax in the hall if you'd like," Kelvin spoke out to them after they had finished eating. Without waiting for their answer, he got up and started collecting the used utensils.
"No, that's okay, I'll do it since you cooked for us," Amanda quickly added but when she tried to help, he held her by the shoulders and firmly sat her back down again.
"It's okay, I want to do this," he accentuated with a smile.
Yvonne looked on and tried to hide her puzzlement. In all her life, she had never seen a man volunteer to do housework of any sort in all her life. The only men she had seen do that were paid, so she was at a loss for words at Kelvin's actions.
"Is it because he worked as a waiter?" she pondered on this. Her thoughts were interrupted when Amanda said, "We will keep you company here then, Thank you." Kelvin smiled in response and continued the task of loading the used utensils into the sink to wash.
"Have you seen what is in the news?" Tasha suddenly asked.

In Beo City E-Homes #23, the sunlight streamed towards the patio and a maid could be seen dusting the furniture in there. Another maid passed with a tray of food and walked to the breakfast room; a room just adjacent to the patio. This was a two-storey, five-bedroom place and was Wallace's residence as well.
That same morning, he sat at his breakfast table after the maid had finished setting it up with their meal and watched his adopted son, Eddy. He couldn't pinpoint what the problem was, and he just watched the boy, who was fiddling with his breakfast without being aware of his surroundings.
Suddenly his wife, Mabel, asked the young man, "Eddy why are you fiddling with your breakfast?"
"… and why do you look so sombre when you just got engaged yesterday,"
"you should be the happiest man on earth now, but why do you look like there is a problem?"
"Son, you know that you can talk to me about anything… right?
That is when it hit Wallace, as he thought, Eddy should look happy now he is officially engaged, but why did he look like his world had just come down or somebody had died in the family?
Eddy looked up at his adopted mother and smiled and said, "I'm OK mum, I just feel a little under the weather,"
She nodded and he smiled in response for a bit, but Wallace did not buy that story. He knew for a fact that there might be an issue but since he had no clue or any way to find out the problem, he did not say anything to his son. Also, as it was a rare visit from him as Eddy usually stayed at his own residence, Wallace did not pursue it.
"I have some things to take care of, so I'll leave first," Eddy told them and left the table.
He entered his room and slumped down on the bed, many thoughts kept running through his head and he just did not know what to do. The previous night he had drunk himself to sleep. He did not know why he was acting this way, … well he knew exactly why he was acting that way, but he did not know what to do to relieve it, especially with anger now bubbling in his heart.
He sat up and ruffled his hair with his hands in a frustrating gesture, then he placed his head in his hands as he thought, "Why couldn't you wait for me Amanda! I know you liked me, i mean she still likes me so why would she hurt me this way by taking another man? or is it just a hoax?" His thoughts were messed up as he couldn't understand Amanda's actions at all. He had been always able to read her like the back of his hands so he knew perfectly well when she had started liking him all those years ago but...
His phone rang and interrupted his thoughts; and he picked to check, 'Ella darling', the caller screen showed him, and he put the phone down as he was just in no mood to talk to anybody… not even his new darling, it would seem. After a while, he picked up his car keys and came out of the room, without saying anything to his parents he left the house in his car.
As he drove away, he only had one thought in his mind, "I can't let this go on anymore!"

Back in their apartment, Tasha's question echoed, "Did you see the headlines?" a complicated look flashed on Yvonne's face, but she told her,
"Do not follow these tabloids too much and waste your time on them," so, they just read it by themselves but did not dwell on it too much as they did not really care. The place soon turned lively, and they chatted for a while. Yvonne left after being assured that her daughter was in safe hands.
"I'll visit your apartment when it's ready," she told Kelvin and then she left.
"I'll be right back," Kelvin told Amanda and please a soft kiss on her forehead. Tasha just rolled her eyes and said, "you people should stop being so cheesy with the PDA." Kelvin laughed and entered the bathroom.
Tasha dragged Amanda to the hall, but Ding Dong! the doorbell rang once again that morning just before they started talking. Tasha opened the door and her face changed as well as her back stiffened, but she knew it was not her call, so she let that person in.
Amanda was equally surprised when she saw her best friend, Eddy. She did not know how she felt about him currently and she frankly did not want to think about it as well.
Amanda still considered him her best friend but for once she did not feel like letting him know about how she came to marry Kelvin.
"Welcome Eddy," she greeted him brightly, "can I get you some water to drink?"
"You didn't tell me you were coming. What's going on?" she asked him.
Eddy's next words had her dumfounded, he held both her shoulders so that she faced him,
"I'm sorry Amanda, I had to get engaged to Ella, but I don't love her as I love you." He started almost frantically and immediately, with his eyes red-rimmed.
"I know it was all a lie with that man from yesterday so please be mine."
"I'll give you the chance to come back to me!" he added.
