"Today's meeting is over, don't forget to keep reporting if there is anything that deviates from the plan," Arthur said at the end of the meeting. All the employees in the room responded politely before Arthur finally walked out followed by Juan.
"Today you can't go anywhere until your work-"
"I already finished it! Just look on my desk later," Arthur cut in casually. They rode the special elevator to the floor of the highest office now occupied by Arthur Jefferson. Juan stared in disbelief at the stack of papers that had previously been blank and not glanced at by Arthur at all but had now been signed by his superior.
"You... didn't just do that, did you?"
Arthur knitted his eyebrows, slightly offended. "Hey, how long have you been working with me? Have I ever messed up with my work?" Arthur asked, looking at Juan seriously.
Juan swallowed his saliva roughly. Although his boss often joked around and handed him a lot of heavy work, sometimes he was afraid that Arthur was in serious mode. "N-never, Sir."
"I got the power before I did that. So you can tell them if some are approved and some need to be redone," Arthur said as he walked around the large room on a hoverboard.
"What are these powers?" asked Juan as he carried the stack of papers.
"Women."
The look on Juan's face was flat again, he knew Arthur wouldn't stay away from women. He sighed heavily, he didn't want to deal with his boss's personal business. The most important thing was that the work was done and he didn't have to be bothered by getting a lot of calls from other employees or clients that made him lose sleep and complain all day about having a boss as crazy as Arthur.
Juan Awnsley, the man with the ash gray hair was two years younger than Arthur. He had been Arthur's secretary for about five years when Arthur kept changing secretaries because there were always problems. Previously, Arthur always chose what kind of secretary he wanted. He always accepted pretty and sexy female employees. As a result, what he did was more flirting and making out with his secretary. This made his dad, who had just retired, unable to cope with his son's behavior.
"You are no longer allowed to choose the secretary who will work under you! I will choose one for you!" Arthur's dad ordered. It was then that Juan tried to apply as a secretary and was immediately tested by the founder of Jeffer company. Without asking for his son's approval, Albern immediately accepted Juan as Arthur's secretary.
"Arthur, this is your new secretary. I will strangle you if after this you fire people as you please," Albern threatened his son.
"Good afternoon, Sir. I am Juan Awnsley who will be your secretary," Juan said, bowing respectfully to the man who had his back to him and Albern. And when Arthur turned the chair around, exposing himself to Juan, it made Juan a little astonished at the stature of his new boss. The face he had always coveted, the face of a man's dream.
"Geh,seriously? Why is my secretary a man, Dad?! I won't focus on my work if it's a man!" protested Arthur unhappily.
"What kind of nonsense is that? It's precisely because your secretary has been a woman that you've never been able to focus!" retorted Albern, his temper starting to come out because he was so annoyed with his eldest son.
"I can't accept that!"
"I'll kill you!"
Juan blinked, he was a little surprised that the company he always admired and the officials he often saw on TV and magazines, turned out to be like this. In fact, Juan always thought they were very charismatic and calm. What he saw now was the exact opposite. But in the end, because Arthur could not win against his dad, he accepted by force that Juan would be his new secretary.
In the end, their working relationship lasted for a long time. Although Juan always suffered from doing things for his crazy boss.
"Then excuse me to go back to the room," Juan said as he walked out of the room.
"Ah, by the way, since I've done my work, I'll be going out for a while this afternoon," Arthur informed Juan.
Juan stopped his steps, he sighed heavily. The truth was, despite Arthur's relaxed demeanor, the company was growing faster and faster. New regulations made the employees more comfortable and eventually gave all their dedication to the company. The number one thing Arthur did was to prioritize the welfare of his employees. He always gives rewards to employees who have brilliant ideas that can be used in the future because the company is in the IT field.
The clothes used in the office are as comfortable as they are but must remain polite. Well ... although Juan still dresses formally because his position is secretary.
"I forgot to tell you one thing," Juan said making Arthur stop walking on the hoverboard and wait for what the man wanted to say. "The Founder is planning to come here."
Arthur's eyes were so perfectly rounded, he gaped. "When?"
"Today."
"Why are you only telling me now?!"
"I forgot."
"What kind of secretary are you!" Arthur looked panicked, he put on his black suit in a hurry.
"Where are you going, Sir?" asked Juan as Arthur planned to leave the room.
"Get out of here before I meet with-" Arthur couldn't continue when the door to the room opened from outside. Juan was surprised to find Albern already there.
A man with a thin mustache, sharp eyes and a hair that was starting to turn white but his good looks were still evident. Proof that Arthur got his good looks from his own dad. "Where are you going?" asked Albern in a heavy voice.
"H-hi, Dad. Long time no see. Of course I wanted to greet you in the lobby," Arthur replied with a sweet smile. Juan just turned his face away because he knew very well that Arthur's words were a lie.
Albern snorted and walked over to the sofa and sat down. He told his eldest son to sit in front of him. Reluctantly, Arthur complied. Juan left the room to tell the other staff to make drinks for the two important people.
"How are the digital sales and apps going?" asked Albern.
"There's no problem, they're still under my supervision. Dan, don't worry everything will still run smoothly if I handle it," Arthur replied haughtily. He just wanted Albern not to keep an eye on him and make it difficult for Arthur to play with something he enjoyed.
"I trust you, Son. I can finally retire in peace if it's like this," Albern said as he accepted the coffee made by the staff there.
Arthur laughed crisply, nodding enthusiastically. "Of course, I intend to, Dad. You'd better have fun with mom and not worry about me," Arthur began to incite his father. "You're not as young as you used to be, it's time for you to enjoy life like fishing or watching the sunset with mom. Isn't that very relaxing and romantic?"
Albern chuckled amusedly, his son apparently understood him. "Ah, but there might be one thing missing," Albern said.
"What's that? I'll make it happen, Dad!" said Arthur excitedly.
"I want to have grandchildren."
Jder!!! It was like being struck by lightning in broad daylight. Arthur's body instantly froze when those words came out of his father's mouth.
"You've had enough of playing around with women. You're at an age where you're ready to get married, Arthur."
