I gasped for air, panting and looked around, and found myself still in Tempest.
"I see you have finally made the bond with your Guardian," Kai emerged from his seat. Judging from his tone, he already knew I had succeeded this time. With so many failed attempts, I thought he would give up on me.
Jerk.
"Yeah," I sat up. "It wasn't easy to persuade her, but Xula and I have a common interest.
"Oh," Kai hands me a cup of cold water. "And what will that be?"
I pull up a smile and look up at him. "To protect."
Xula, she was a fierce warrior and was a protector of the Moon Goddess. She devoted herself to being a Guardian. But when the Moon Goddess went missing, Xula and the other Guardians became corrupted that the higher-ups wanted to get rid of them, which they did, but somehow they were planted to mix blood like Kai and me.
