Artemis' POV
This time Beck doesn't stop me when I get to the emergency stairs and jump over the handrail. I land two floors below, next to a window, which I slip through easily. I immediately identify Beck's studio, for it was in this room that we first confronted each other.
I know I should stay here longer and explore what the computer or scattered notebooks might contain. I know Baltazar would punish me for wasting this opportunity, but right now I don't want to stop here in this room that is foul with his scent, so I walk through it, crossing the hallway and rushing down the stairs, trying to find my room.
‘You have to stop running away,’ Sky then challenges me. ‘We are not like that!’
‘Shut up!’ I call out to her. ‘This is all your fault. You wanted to kiss him, to be close to him,’ I demand.
