"You didn't do it."
"No," she removes her glasses and gently folds them, placing them on the table beside her. "I was writing it, when I figured what you were trying to do."
"Why did you stop?" I ask, my leg bouncing, as I am on edge.
"I realized that you were trying to play me. You tell me your story, which I don't believe is entirely true, to make me think you have said more than enough, and then you get to leave."
"Is that not what I am here for?" I ask her and she nods.
"Well yes, to talk to me, not lead me to believe that you are okay when you are not."
I sigh, shaking my head. "Why are you so adamant? It's not like you care or anything what happens to me."
"It's not about you, if you can believe that. I took an oath when I started this practice, so me being adamant is not because I am punishing you."
