...
The force field then shattered with an explosion-like sound.
A force then suddenly pushed Lydia. She was sent flying a few meters before horribly crashing into a brick wall.
The force pulled me up.
"I leave for a few days. You risk your ass by coming here," I heard Celeste's voice for the first time in a while.
I turned, "Because you took a human," I lied,
She was holding a katana in one hand and she looked like she had just walked through rubble. She was in a red dress and the entire thing was covered with dust, her hair was messy but her face was the same: very scary but hot.
"How did you find me?" I croaked while picking up my sword. Then walked up to her. I was leaping and since my healing was slow at the moment. I had to deal with a broken rib..or two…or more.
"I can sense human magic and this one produced the strangest kind," she growled looking at Lydia standing up from the debris.
Lydia grumbled. "A progenitor, my lucky day…" she made a second blade in her left hand.
Lydia healed, then charged.
Celeste pushed me aside and attacked.
Both their blades met with a glass-shattering force that produced the same sound as a thunderclap.
They were moving so fast with their movements I couldn't keep up. Each time their blades met there was a fire spark that was made each time the steel surfaces knocked each other.
Lydia jumped out of the fight, then cast multiple magic circles around Celeste. She napped her fingers then lightning bolts shot from each circle. At the same time.
There was a massive explosion that pushed me a bit. I have never seen such power up close.
There was silence for a bit after that explosion.
Lydia laughed, "I thought progenitors are tougher than th….." she stopped after feeling something.
I could also feel it. The feeling of concealed power unleashed all at once.
The dust cleared and Celeste was standing in a magical force field uninjured. The feeling was coming from her.
Her katana blade was glowing red, along with her eyes. Her fangs were out and black veins had grown on her skin, she looked hungry.
She advanced one more time. Lydia put her blades forward, but they both broke when Celeste's katana hit both.
They shattered hopelessly right before Celeste used her mind to push Lydia one more time and pinned her into a wall.
"Tell me where your friends are if you want to live," Celeste demanded.
Lydia chuckled softly then spit on the floor. She snarled, "Hail the Dark blood." her eyes turned red and she crumbled down into nothing but dust.
"W...What has just happened?" I was confused after seeing that.
"She killed herself. Must be a curse of some sort," she said.
She turned back to normal while studying the ash.
We saw an aircraft fall from the sky and crash into a building nearby.
"What is going on?"
"The Dark blood have ambushed the entire place. Lucky for us no one got hurt thanks to the other progenitors,"
"And the diamond?"I bothered to ask,
She paused then her mouth dropped as if she had just remembered that. "I forgot the diamond," she gasped and panicked.
She then grabbed my hand and teleported the two of us into the interior of city hall.
The entire place was in ruins, electricity wires were exposed and were sparkling loose current. The entire place was covered by smoke and dust.
We scanned the place. It looked like the conference room where the meeting was supposed to be held. Most of the floor was covered in the blood of the creatures that were guarding the entrance, I guess they thought they could handle the progenitors like Lydia.
"What happened here?"
"A magic boom that weakened the progenitors," she said walking through the damage.
Rebekah's voice echoed from the next room. "…let…me…go!" she yelled.
We heard and ran to her rescue.
Celeste smashed through the door.
I glanced…and the first person I saw was Rebekah, she was in the hands of some monster. A fat monster with a pig-looking head with a snout as long as my arm, snotty nostrils with a gleaming brass ring, and cruel black eyes. It was about the height of a minotaur and was also in amour.
It stared at the both of us and growled like a real animal as it pawed the floor, and got ready to charge.
We braced ourselves and held our ground. I tightened the grip I had on my sword and we stared back at the monster's eyes.
It dropped Rebekah and then charged forward while roaring.
'We don't have time for Orcs," Celeste grumbled. Her eyes flickered a bright red color.
-And in a split second the monster exploded into nothing more than just dust- She had instantly killed the monster without lifting a finger.
How did she…never mind Rebekah was probably not fine. I ran to her rescue.
I put her arm over my shoulders and then helped her up.
"You again," she muttered once she saw my face. I let that one slide.
"Rebekah where is the diamond?" Celeste asked the first question.
"it's still hidden…" she answered.
"Good, now we need to get both of you out of here," Celeste said. "We can't let them find out that the fey progenitor is here."
I sensed something approaching us.
I looked up and the ceiling broke when an Orc crashed down on its back with Petra on top of it. There was a spear shoved in its chest, which was hers. It was very weird to look at, but what do you expect from a female Dwayne Johnson.
She looked very surprised to see me. " Good, you found your friends. But you need to leave now," She warned. "We found the diamond but the dark Fey have overpowered captain William and Kirk and the new humans are stronger.."
"Because the demon lord has offered his blood to boost their strength."
"What about Atreigon?" I asked,
Petra chuckled confidently, "How else did you think you were going to leave this world?"
Then..... a blast of wind fell from the sky.
And when I looked up. Atreigon fell from the sky in the form of a cat into my arms. he looked so excited to see me.
Nancy and Ned also materialized. They looked exhausted from the rescue/ suicide mission. Ned's hair was messed up. His shirt had bloodstains, hopefully, his.
Our reunion had not yet even started when a blue sky beam appeared and dropped something outside City Hall.
The time around me and Atreigon was paused.
And we were the only ones along with the dark blood followers who were still moving.
Fear grew in my stomach the moment I felt the air shift. I glanced to see what had been dropped only to see it was a man in a black cloak like a sorcerer from a video game or movie. From his hands, I could tell he was old because they were dry, pale, and wrinkled with abnormally long nails you could mistake for claws.
All the dark blood around stopped fighting and fell to their knees, and gave praise to their master.
One of the dark blood walked up to him and knelt. Then offered him the bracelet along with the red diamond, that he put on his wrist. A red surge of power then covered his entire body.
"We can't let him have the diamond," Atreigon muttered.
"I know,"
I was sacred but that didn't stop me from doing the dumbest thing in my entire life. I called out Atreigon and I was finally transformed into an elf with a black blade in my right hand.
I set the sword on fire and then walked out of city hall.
All the dark blood looked at me and most growled since they were monsters.
"Open the seven holy castings," I ordered.
And seven magic circles formed behind me. This was my mom's spell. It was an original designed by her. Why do I know it?… I don't remember, but it required an unlimited supply of magical charge to maintain. The spell was designed to give the caster assistance during fights by enhancing their attacks by ten thousand percent.
The demon lord stared at the spell I had cast. I heard him giggle. "Impressive, I knew you were strong. Now let's fight like demons." he then created a sword similar to mine but with blue flames, then shot himself into the air and flew in my direction.
I didn't have time to jump out of the way so I instead put my sword forward.
Our blades met and the impact sent me flying back into the hall and slamming through multiple walls. And finally into a pillar.
Even in this form, I found myself bleeding from my head.
I then started to feel a force pull me back into the direction where the demon lord was.
I summoned Atreigon back into my hands, once I was close to him, I switched on the flames and then slashed the air. A wave of flames formed and it hit the demon lord.
I rushed to activate the seven gates spell and it hit the demon lord with multiple fire and lightning attacks from all directions. The attack was so strong the sky rumbled on its activation. No creature could survive such an attack.
But when the smoke cleared.
He was still standing thanks to the red diamond. He had managed to access its power. There was a smile on his face that confirmed I was dead meat.
He then put his hand forward and faced me from the sky, I couldn't move at all.
"You will never be strong enough to face me. No one will," he hissed.
He made a fist.
And then I felt the most painful thing in my entire life. Blades started to grow out of my body. I felt like I was being torn apart piece by piece by hot blades. I started bleeding out and my vision started to disappear. I couldn't believe this was happening to me…
I fell to my knees and faced the demon lord.
All the pain was growing into hate. I couldn't see his face but I needed one more chance so that I could kill him myself.
He uttered one last word before he teleported away along with his followers. That word was 'pathetic'
The blades disappeared and the blood loss even got worse.
I have to stop the darkness, I thought. How do I stop the darkness?
I saw Celeste's face hovering over me. next to her were Rebekah and Nancy casting a healing spell, I think. The time spell had worn off.
"--I can't let you die--" I heard Celeste
"--not again--"
The next thing I felt was her fangs digging into my neck.
