Chereads / Cursed: Into the darkeness / Chapter 22 - Revival

Chapter 22 - Revival

My soul was floating in a dark void of emptiness, I couldn't move or feel anything. Nothing at all….was this death?

I heard Sandra's voice echo through my mind.

It first said; [Revive the Progenitor]

Then

[Goal is to get stronger]

I opened my eyes and jumped out of bed as if I had just had a horrible nightmare. I was in my room, in my pajamas. I could hear the sounds coming from the city, even though I was currently pretty far from the noisy area. I could hear sirens blaring, people bickering from afar, insects and birds chirping and the hovering of planes as they crossed through the sky.

My senses had gone haywire. The sounds started to grow more violent the longer I listened.

I put my hands over my head and covered my ears, but it was pointless. I could still hear them, the clicks the clangs the chuckles all of them…..

My room door opened.

And it all stopped.

I faced the door, and the first person I saw was Celeste. I was relieved after seeing her which meant I was alive.

Her eyes shimmered with tears the moment she saw me. I don't how it happened, but she appeared in front of me and hugged me so tight with her superhuman strength before she said a single word.

It was awkward…

"I almost thought we had lost you," she mumbled, still hugging me with all her strength. Tears were flowing from her eyes. I didn't know if they were from joy…or if I was missing something here.

I struggled to speak, "Celeste…what made you think that?"

She said nothing.

I remembered most of what happened back in Tlavacus. I fought the demon lord and lost miserably, but after that. I remember nothing. Until now.

"How long has it been?"

"Three weeks," Celeste answered. "You…"

"Master! You are alive," Atreigon flew to my shoulder. 'Oh, I have missed you…"

Celeste split from the hug.

Atreigon then rubbed his bird face on me, I guess that was his way of showing affection.

"Thanks to Lucas, you're alive," Celeste said softly,

I have never heard of this Lucas person. "Who is Lucas exactly?" I asked Celeste.

"My brother," she said shyly, she was acting weird.

"Your brother?"

"Master you were dead for three days before Lord Lucas saved your life and explained everything to your parents,"

"And where's he now?"

"He went back to Tlavacus a few days back. He is the new progenitor after all," Celeste said, she sounded very sad.

I was shocked to hear such. "Wait, you gave up your powers?"

"No, I simply gave up my title to save your life. Giving up my powers means death. Now I have been tasked to find the demon lord and recover the diamond,"

That's right. I remembered the person who killed me after the first two minutes of our battle. I still can't forget how he sounded when he said I was pathetic. I remembered how strong he was and how nowhere near I am to his power level. If I didn't have Atreigon I don't think the fight would have even lasted two minutes.

I had to get stronger.

"--it's confirmed that the demon lord is hiding among the new humans, the parliament is searching." she continued, I had phased into my thoughts.

I said, "Okay, and where's Rebekah?"

"Rebekah is safe. Just that now she has been transferred to Mayfair High, and she will be studying with us from now on."

I understood why that had to happen. Rebekah was just a crazy teen who got dragged into all this by just having a drink with a vampire. Maybe Veronica knew all along that she was a descendant of the banshees, I don't much about them but as a nerd, I knew they were powerful being the servants of death and stuff, it pretty much-made sense when I found out that the diamond can take one to the dark dimension.

"Wait, did she just say, Rebekah, is in my school?' I thought to myself.

My room door slammed open and My sister ran in crying. "Big brother," the girl flew straight and hugged me. I was getting a lot of hugs I guess.

"I...I…was scared bi….bi…big brother," she said while sniffing.

I hugged her back.

"No need to be anymore. Sister," I ruffled my hand through her white hair, then placed her back on the ground.

She looked around then turned back to me. She had a suspicious look on her face. And the adorable sad sister look was destroyed instantly.

"You've changed so much," she commented on my looks, "you even have your Harem of beautiful girls now."

Just saying the word harem made my mind explode instantly. "WHATTTTT!!!!!!!!," I chuckled, "….do you mean by that?"

Ronnie looked at me with a very devious look. The look was too devious to be on a ten-year-old girl.

"Another girl has been visiting every day. Her name is Rebekah. You know her?"

"What's a harem?" Atreigon and Celeste asked at the same time., they were confused by the term, Maybe they had a different term to mean that.

Am sure you're misunderstanding things here, Rebekah and I are just friends…am not even sure if we are friends," I said, ignoring Atreigon and Celeste's question. Is it normal for supernaturals to have many girlfriends?

Ronnie suddenly sighed. And changed the topic. "Mom and dad said that Celeste will be staying with us for your safety and something about her training you…" she said.

I glanced at Celeste and then back to Ronnie. Yeah, sure." I said,

"Just don't be a pervert…"

"When have I ever been a pervert?" I thought to myself.

Ronnie then left the room without saying any more.

.

The next morning. I didn't want to waste any more time by dodging school and saying am undergoing recovery, I had to go to school. Not because I loved it, but because I wanted to see Ned and Nancy once again. I was looking at myself in the mirror and Ronnie was right. I had changed a lot, mostly in terms of physical appearance. I looked jacked like I had been working out for months. My chest had puffed up along long with my arms, I had abs and my hair was longer than before and I think I was taller.

If dying makes me look like this then I don't mind dying again. I felt stronger and more flexible. But once I suddenly put on my uniform for some reason it fit properly. Like I hadn't changed at all and all this was in my head.

I dressed in my sneakers and then head for the ground floor.

"Good Morning," Celeste appeared from the kitchen. She was already in her uniform which was just like mine only that instead of pants she wore a short skirt. She was holding a cup of tea in her hand and had changed her hair color to black.

"Hey…" my greeting lasted longer than I expected. She looked amazing, you couldn't tell it was Celeste under all this. Unless you focused on her eyes, they were still red.

My phone rang and I picked it up.

"Hello, is this Ralph Tally?" a male voice said,

"Yes, it is..who am I speaking to?" Celeste frowned after seeing the look in my eyes.

"This is Charles, I am a minister from the parliament. I am requesting to see you and the progenitor standing in front of you," I faced Celeste the moment he mentioned her.

She glared at me and nodded.

"Fine. Where and when?"

"In the city. Jack's cafe, four O'clock. I can send a car to pick you up from school..."

"No, we will be fine on our own,"

"Okay, you must know that our meeting is very important. So I expect you to be there if you still value the lives of those you care about."

He hung up.

I quickly switched on the search engine app, then typed in the 'who is Charles in the magic parliament'

The results popped and it said that Charles Haywood is the third strongest mage in the world. He is a blind man with K-9 level senses, he has superhuman abilities and is one of the few new humans that don't need spell casting to perform magic.

I stared at the phone. I couldn't even hold it firmly because I had started to tremble from fear. I could only imagine facing him in person. This was going to be hard.

For me at least, but for Celeste, she looked okay actually.

"Huh…so that's the guy..hmm… pretty basic," she commented while sipping more of her tea.

Did she just call him basic?' I was surprised at the same time not surprised because she is a progenitor, power-wise.

"I guess we have a minister to talk to. I wonder if it's connected to the fact that you are a walking threat to the human race as we know," she said.

I don't know if she was trying to crack a joke.

"Yeah, I guess so," I said while picking up my bag.

She grabbed my arm and teleported the both of us.
