Chapter 3 - Terrestrial University of Business

Emma didn't know how long she was unconscious during her drift in the clouds. As far as she could remember, she was speaking to Ikaros, the eagle-like bird in a closed-space environment.

"Hey, did you hear about the latest Yphone16 Pro? It seemed like Peach Company had done it again."

"Of course, the Peach Company is like an unstoppable rocket with their constant inventions and new tech. Who wouldn't know when news about their latest Yphone is coming out to the market?"

'Yphone16 Pro? Didn't we already have Yphone42 Pro Max on the market? What are these people talking about?' Emma exclaimed inwardly when she heard the surrounding noises emitting from some females. She was confused by their conversation and the excitement of something that was out 10 years ago.

Unable to stand their conversation any longer, she forcefully opened her eyes. The moment her eyes opened, Emma's face turned ashen white when she saw her surroundings.

"W-Where is this place?" She asked in a dumbfounded tone, clearly not expecting to be here at all.

"Emma, are you sleeping again before class starts? The professor had said previously that she would fail you if she caught you sleeping and disrupting her class again." The person who sat next to her said.

Emma held a disbelief expression when she heard this familiar voice. After all, it was the voice that she hated to the core, Francesa. Emma tilted her head slightly and noticed Francesa sitting on her right side with a laptop on her desk.

However, what shocked her even more, was the fact that Francesa looked younger than what she had remembered. She was more innocent and pure, compared to the vicious and vile woman she had in her mind.

"What are you doing here, Francesa?" Emma didn't know why, but she managed to control her emotions and asked in a calm voice. She was actually trying to scream and slap her face, but somehow, she was stopped by a mysterious force.

"What do you mean what I'm doing here, Emma?" Francesa laughed in response. "We are attending the class to study business and we've been here for about a month already. Did your sleep make you lose your memories?"

Emma wanted to vomit in disgust when she saw Francesa acting like her besties. It was true that they used to be besties during their university year, but everything had changed when Justin came into their picture.

Justin's appearance had caused a rift to occur between them, and the longer the time passed, the greater the rift was until it was no longer possible for the two of them to coexist together.

'Wait a minute, if I'm in my uniform and Francesa seems to be younger by 10 years… does that mean I really went back in time?' Emma finally realized something was wrong here. The Yphone12 Pro she had heard the other females talking about was indeed going live on the market 10 years ago.

With all these contexts and clues, Emma concluded that it must have been the work of Ikaros and everything that she had experienced was not fake. She tried to look around her surroundings, ignoring Francesa's rambling.

When her eyes landed on the window outside of the classroom, Emma was surprised to see an eagle standing on a tree branch, staring directly at her.

'I-Ikaros?' She managed to predict that the eagle was most likely him. The same glare and the same momentum of its flapping wings, added with its cool demeanor, everything matched up to Ikaros.

"Emma… Emma… Are you even listening to me, Emma?" Francesa asked over and over again. "Emma, why are you looking at the window when I'm telling you some funny stories that happened 2 days ago?"

"Um, I have to go to the toilet for a minute." Emma ignored Francesa as she stood up and hurriedly left the classroom.

"Emma, the professor will arrive soon. Hurry up, go and come back, otherwise, she will really fail you. Your father would be enraged if he heard you are failing again." Francesa stood up and tried to warn her, but Emma had already disappeared from the classroom.

"Emma… just what is wrong with her today?" Francesa was confused by her frantic action. She sighed softly before sitting down and typing something on her laptop while waiting for Emma to return.

Meanwhile, Emma had rushed toward the exit to have a conversation with Ikaros. She needed to understand what had just occurred and why she was back at her university. After all, she had flunked in her university in her past life due to her non-caring attitude toward learning.

She had always relied on his father to do all the business stuff, so she never needed to study properly. That was what she had in mind during her past life and ultimately her downfall of being incapable of sharing some of her father's burdens.

'Is Ikaros giving me a chance to re-study and change my life from here?' Emma wondered silently, rushing toward the location she had last seen Ikaros in. Her heart started beating rapidly as she felt not only anxiousness but excitement. The excitement in which she can actually redo her choices while exacting vengeance.

Sometime later, Emma finally found the location and was glad to see Ikaros still standing on the tree branch.

(Ikaros, is this my rebirth starting point?) She tried to ask aloud but realized her voice seemed to have vanished. There was no sound coming from her mouth, almost like she had become mute. She touched her throat and wondered if there was something stuck on it.

Just when she was curious about her situation, she suddenly heard a sound transmission coming from Ikaros.

(Dumb Emma, what are you trying to shout aloud for? Are you trying to announce to the entire world that you have rebirth and actually came from 10 years in the future?) Ikaros' voice was filled with anger and anxiousness.

Emma scratched her head in embarrassment since she doesn't know any other way to communicate with him other than speaking aloud. After all, that's how normal humans communicate with each other. How was she supposed to know something magical like a sound transmission that only occurred in fantasy drama or movies.?

Ikaros's expression remained unchanged, but for some reason, Emma could tell he was disappointed in her. It was like there was a special link between the two of them that made her capable of reading his current mood. The same goes for Ikaros as he somehow seemed to always understand what was on Emma's mind and thought process.

(Emma, I'm only going to teach you once, so listen properly. This is important since that's how we're going to communicate from now on whether people are present or not.) Ikaros sound transmission was received by Emma.

Emma nodded her head in understanding. She proceeded to spend the next few minutes learning how to do sound transmission with him to communicate. Although she was a complete amateur in sound transmission, she managed to learn it pretty quickly.

(Wow, so this is what sound transmission is like? It's so fascinating and thrilling at the same time) Emma said to Ikaros, acting like a little girl with a new toy or plushie. Though she didn't forget her original intention in confronting Ikaros.

(Ikaros, is the Terrestrial University of Business the starting point of my vengeance?) Emma asked, her eyes filled with a vicious glint. If this is her starting point, then that means she would have to begin her vengeance in her university life.

(Mhmm, you might not notice, but all those future tragic events began from your university year. That's all I can tell you for now since I'm limited on how much I can guide you.) Ikaros reminded her.

Emma clenched her fist tightly as she understood his meaning. She would definitely not waste this golden opportunity. Unknowingly to her, Emma's expression was no different than a cold-blooded person's whenever she turned serious.
