Chapter 4 - Professor Lilian

After conversing with Ikaros for a few more minutes, Emma had to rush back to her classroom. Since the Terrestrial University of Business is going to be the turning point of her life, then she absolutely must not slack off in the lecture.

'If I recall correctly, Professor Lilian is an extremely harsh grader, but one that truly wanted her student to succeed.' Emma thought. In her past life, she had disregarded Professor Lilian even though she was trying to educate her. She always came as a cold and harsh professor that is out to get the student's life, but all in all, she was merely trying to push their limits to the extreme.

Now, when she thought about it, she realized how much of a fool she was. Her eyes were a bit teary, most likely from the guilt that she had pushed away a helping hand. "Haa Professor Lilian must have been really restless when it comes to dealing with me."

Getting her emotion cleared up, Emma went to the restroom and splashed some water on her face. She stared at the mirror and finally saw her youthful age.

"As expected, I'm still beautiful and charming that can make men swoon over me. I must really be dumb to fall in love with that scumbag." Emma sneered coldly, revealing a cold grin. From now on, she would never believe in love which was superficial and unrealistic. Grabbing a towel, she wiped off the excess water on her face before returning to her classroom.

The moment she entered, Francesa stood up and called out to her anxiously. "Hurry up Emma, Professor Lilian is about to arrive."

Emma remained calm and smiled lightly. "Stop rushing me, Francesa. I'm coming over already."

"Geez, did you eat something wrong that you needed to go to the restroom? If you were just a few minutes late, then Professor Lilian would scold you again."

"Haha, relax, it's nothing serious." Emma tried to brush it off lightly. Even now, she felt an indescribable feeling in her heart. In her mind, she had regarded Francesa as an enemy and one that she wanted to torture. Yet, when it comes to her emotion, it was like a blank piece of paper. Instead of hatred or anger, Emma felt like Francesa was merely a stranger to her- a stranger with zero grudges.

Emma guessed this was most probably the price she had paid to rebirth, and it was a bargain in her mind. To be able to remain calm and collected despite seeing your most hated enemies is the highest level of controlling one's emotion. Now her enemies won't even suspect anything if she was actually secretly plotting to destroy them.

She took the seat right beside Francesa and brought out her laptop. The brand was coincidentally the LacBook produced by the Peach Company. The software and technologies equipped with it were perfect for any university student to use.

A few minutes later, the classroom turned extremely silent when they heard a clunking sound coming from the hall wall. It was the footsteps of a person wearing high heels.

The classroom was extremely large with about 200 seats available for students to occupy. It had a layout similar to an auditorium with some mini-staircase and a spacious aisle. As for the professor's desk, it was all the way in front with a large smartboard for the screen projection.

Professor Lilian came through from the side of the door as she calmly walked toward her desk and placed some files down. Her expression was cool and exuded a mature aura. She had long red hair that brushes down her back and was wearing a professional suit designed for women, elegant and dignified.

She was in her mid-thirties, but her face was indicating an age in the twenties considering her youthful and beautiful look. Although she looked extremely charming, the men in the classroom dared not to even take a single glance at her.

After all, she had the nickname of a demonic instructor within the university due to her difficult lectures and harsh punishment for those who break the rules.

Rumors had it that there was once a brave male student confessing to her, only to be shot down and was assigned a 30-page essay, font 12 sizes, and single space only. The brave male student obviously failed to complete the assignment and received an F for the semester, prompting his transfer to another university.

"Emma Windsor, is she here today?" While everyone was frightened to the core, Professor Lilian glanced at the large classroom as she called for Emma.

Emma remained aloof as she stood up and responded to her calling. "Yes, Professor Lilian?"

"Hmm, seems like you're not dozing off at my lecture early in the morning huh. Have you completed your assignments from last night yet?" Professor Lilian asked chillingly.

'Crap… I just rebirth and if I remembered correctly, I had never done any of her assignments.' Emma cursed silently in her heart. She was nervous in her mind, but her body remained calm, almost like it was in a permanent state of tranquilness.

"Huh? Why are you silent, Emma Windsor? Have you forgotten to do your assignments again?" Professor Lilian raised an eyebrow, exuding a frightening aura around her. "Did I not make myself clear in the previous lecture about what would happen if you fail to do my assignments again?"

Just when Emma was struggling to find a proper response to her question, she suddenly received a sound transmission from Ikaros.

(Just tell her you did the assignment already, Emma. Considering how you were abruptly reborn at this specific time, I have already arranged for you to have completed the assignment for Lilian.)

Emma tilted her head slightly and saw Ikaros outside the window, watching her calmly. She breathed a sigh of relief as she focused her gaze on Professor Lilian. With the life-saving grace from Ikaros, Emma could respond in a dignified manner.

She took a deep breath and gently replied, "Professor Lilian, I have completed the assignments you handed out in the previous lecture already."

"Oh?" Professor Lilian raised an eyebrow in surprise. "In that case, then why don't you bring it up here and let me grade it right now. Remember, if the assignments do not meet my standard, then you should know what I will do right?"

Emma nodded her head as she slowly stood up and began walking down the aisle, shocking Francesa in the meantime.

'Did Emma really manage to complete the assignment despite drinking all night long?' Francesa's face turned ashen white as she watched Emma showing her laptop to Professor Lilian.

The classroom was completely silent as they could wait for the verdict from Professor Lilian. Not a single student dared to utter a single sound, lest they got to her bad side and received the same treatment as Emma.

Professor Lilian was quiet the whole time as she inspected the work done by Emma. Occasionally, she would look up and stare at Emma in disbelief. 'Is this really done by Emma? Such sophisticated words are used correctly and the writing seems to be done professionally.'
