Chapter 7 - 1.6

Shelly paced back and forth inside her room. Holding her phone she kept on muttering.

" No. It's impossible! Emily can't be dead. She's not dead. She's not dead, is she? "

Her shoulders shook as her eyes pooled with tears. What now? What is she going to do? She repeatedly dialed her friends phone number, but no one answered.

She was Emily's best friend and the person who saw the clue the other day, because of her carelessness she lost Emily while escaping. The group was split into two. It was very chaotic that there was no telling who was who.

Thankfully the old butler arrived and took them away. It doesn't matter if they viewed them as trespassers. What matters the most is that they were still alive and breathing.

Unfortunately for her, she had finally found out that Emily is missing. She cannot blindly search for her lost friend nor can she ask the old butler about her friends whereabouts.

Left with no other choice, she came back towards the apartment. A loud knock suddenly interrupted her.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The knocking sounded mechanical. Every three knocks it stops. The sound of humming revebrated towards outside her room. The sound of scratching nails and heavy murmuring sounded.

" Stay away! Stay away from me! "

Shelly rushed towards her bed. She hugged the thick quilt as she shivered. Cold... It too cold! She bit her lips hard as she tasted the metallic taste of blood, but even so, she never took her eyes of the door.

The sound of knocking could still be heard. She even heard the sound of something being dragged. Her tears can't help but fall. She knew better than anyone else that the creature outside wasn't human.

She cried so hard that she didn't even notice that the knocking had already stopped and resumed it's quite state. She only realized that when she stopped crying.

Emily sighed in relief clearly still scared. But before she could truly rejoiced she felt something wet dripped into her hair. She froze as realization hit her. She slowly raised her head towards the ceiling only to see a woman turning upside down the ceiling. The woman was grinning as blood continued to trickle towards her broken head.

" Ahhhhh!!! "

Hamiel stared shocked at the opened box. No way! Hands shaking he pointed towards it.

" This!... "

" Yeah! His yours, sweetie. "

Leila proudly said chest up. Hamiel watched the little milk snow leopard chew the ribbon tied towards it's tail.

" Ow! "

It issued a cute yelp after finding out that it cannot take it away. It's little milky ears twitched at it sprawled towards the box. Clearly giving up it's struggle.

" Seriously? Lei, your the best! "

Hamiel said sincerely. Ever since young he had always dreamed of raising a pet on his own. Unfortunately, his parents were against it, besides, he came from a poor and barely surving family. He doesn't have the time to raise pets nor can he raise it. It'll just go hungry and die.

Yet now, he can fully do anything he wants. That's what the system personally assured of, besides it wouldn't really treat its own host shabbily. It would always gave him the best of things and even the best roles possible for him. Just like now, aren't he living as a wealthy young master? Though he can't walk, he was given the very best by his system. Even when completing task, he wasn't really forced to complete it. As long as he doesn't OOC then everything was fine.

He was actually already suspicious about something. This system of his doesn't seem to be the same as the other players. The fact that the players are running about and searching clues was truly different from his situation, besides the three new missions that the system was copied from the other players task.

So they truly didn't have the same task. Suddenly something struck him. Could it be that from the very start he was playing an entirely different game?

' 0017? Am I truly playing an entirely different game than the others? Hey! Answer me! '

The system did not answer and remained silent as If feeling guilty. It would be an idiot if it answered it's host! What would happen if the host gets angry and gave him bad reviews? =×=

Hamiel sighed and for the meantime gave up. He stared at the little leopards twitching ears and swaying tail. He hesitantly reach out his hands, he saw the little leopard approached him with it's guard up. It twitched it's nose as it sniffed his hands before slowly nudging his hands.

" Good. "

He happily took it out of the box and untied the ribbon in it's tail.

" Lei, Is it a she? "

" Nope, Unfortunately for you it's a male. I originally wanted to gift a book rather than a pet. But a friend of mine called me just right on time and said a snow leopard cub was found Auctioned illegally. He was a police officer as you can see. "

Leila said while smugly grinning.

" I see. Then I'll just call him Orpheus. "

" Ow! "

As if agreeing with him the little milk bag waddled towards his lap while rubbing towards him.
