The strange-looking figure approached them carefully as Olivia watched. Soon, the figure was close enough for Olivia to make a distinction. It was no other but Allan. Olivia felt excited but, quickly remembered she was still with the Alpha and was under the wolf's custody otherwise, she would have called Allan. On the other hand, Allan knew the security situation around his childhood friend was bad. He was aware it could get worse if he was ever discovered, it can even cost his life. Therefore, he quickly motioned to Olivia by crossing a finger across his lips; a signal to keep quiet. She understood and pretended like she had seen nothing. The Alpha's back was turned against Allan the whole time, there was no way he could detect what was going on except of course, if Allan made a foolish noise.
"May I ask you for a favor? I know that death is my final destination and I also know that, there is no escape from here but, I have one thing to beg of you. Consider it, a dying-orphan's wish," Olivia tried to control her tears as she spoke.
The Alpha was also moved. He was willing to allow her get on with anything she asks at the moment except if, she crossed his red lines. And that is, if she demand from him to set her free; a request he was not simply ready to pass. "Okay Olivia, what is it that you want?" He spoke with a calm voice.
"I'm pressed and I need a moment of privacy in the vegetation, would you mind?"
"Oh, sure! You can. You are free to go but, don't think of doing something stupid. I will not be responsible for anything which will happen if you do." The Alpha warned. "Remember, you are surrounded. I will be waiting here until you return."
"Thanks a lot! I appreciate your kind gesture," she thanked and began walking towards the vegetation where she had seen Allan. As expected, Allan had long been waiting in the vegetation where she expected Olivia to meet him if, she ever get the chance to do so.
The Alpha watched Olivia until she walked out of his sight. He regrets what will happen to the poor orphan girl. He wished he could change it. But changing the custom of the wolves which had been in place before he was conceived and born, was something he is not prepared to risk.
In the vegetation, Olivia found Allan. He looked exhausted. That alone convinced her that it had taken a lot from him to get to her, there in the Werewolf's territory. Excited to see him, she began, "what are you doing here Allan and how did you get here let alone, finding out I was here?" She moved closer to him. He gave her a long hug. They were both in each other's embrace for some seconds before, Olivia discovered Allan was nervous and feeling terrible and the same time.
He breaks the embrace but, maintained his two hands on Oliver's arm. They looked into each other's' eyes. "I'm so sorry Olivia. I was wrong--I was wrong about my actions. I want you to forgive me. Please, forgive me. Believe me, I was never in support of this."
His pleas continued as Olivia simply stared at him in disbelief. She simply couldn't understand why he was pleading with her to forgive him. "Why are you acting strange? I don't know why you are pleading with me? You have not done anything wrong to me so, I don't understand why you are apologizing as if your life depends on it. Whatever this is about, let me know because right now, I don't get it at all."
"Please Olivia. You know I'm not mentally retarded. You are aware of what I'm talking about. Please, don't pretend you don't know," he looked away briefly as he begged before, facing her once more to apologize. "Please, I have done the unthinkable to you but please, find a place in your heart to forgive me."
"How can I forgive you when I don't know the reason why I'm forgiving you? I don't have any problems with you. Neither have I considered any of your actions towards me in the past or even now, terrible sins against me. So get up and tell me some good news from my mother," she said. Although she had been informed about the full nature of her wicked stepmother, she still fantasized Catherina could do something to help her.
"Forget about her! There is no good news coming from her now and neither will it ever come," Allan sounded disappointed.
"But, I hope she has been informed of my condition, hasn't she?" She knew the answer that might come but, she chose to ask anyway.
"She is aware you have been captured but, she is doing nothing about it. This is why I'm here now to beg for your forgiveness. I will help you escape. We can leave this place now and head to a safer place."
"Why do you keep asking me for my forgiveness?" There was a moment of brief silence after Olivia's last question. Allan has found himself in a difficult position. How could he ever tell her the reason behind the forgiveness he had been asking from her?
Olivia noticed the lack of boldness in him therefore, she guess what the problem might be. "Are you asking for my forgiveness because all of your left and fled when we were attacked? Was it because, you and Gary both had arrows you could have used to defend us but instead, you chose to run away? Did I guess right?" She waited on him to confirm her assumption.
He managed to look at her. "I did something eviler than that. I wish that was the only thing I did, it would have been easier to beg for your forgiveness. But, what I have done will keep haunting me for the rest of my life."
At that point, Clara knew something must be wrong somewhere. She was absolutely confused and could only wait on him to let the cat out of the bag. "I won't ask you this again. This will be the last I will ask you about this. Now, may I hear what you have to tell me?" She moved her body away from him so that, there was no contact between them again. She crossed her arms, amid her demand.
Allan knew it was time to spill out whatever he had to tell Olivia. He lacked the courage to look into her eyes as he began to speak. "We knew; we were going to be attacked. We were aware that only you will be kidnapped. I'm very ashamed of myself to be a party to this evil act against my childhood friend."
