Chapter 9 - Let's Practice

Very calm, no sound whatsoever could be heard but the rows of servants who were behind them lowered their heads with a tense feeling.

They waited to prepare for their master's armpits to need them to be ready immediately.

In front of them Alexandra and Lucian were having dinner together. The two of them didn't look like much to say, Alexandra occasionally glanced at Lucian to admire his face that looked very sweet.

Lucian put the last piece of meat on his plate.

[The way to eat is perfect. He's an amazing guy...]

"Lexa, is there something you want to tell me?" asked Lucian, looking at Alexandra. Being stared at like that made Alexandra startled. Made her stare like an angry, bent face with a frowning forehead.

Everyone there suspected Alexandra was angry.

"Sorry if I offended you." Lucian smiled to take the anger away from Alexandra.

Alexandra's face was immediately stiff, she was not angry at all, instead in admiring the beauty in front of her.

"If I make you have no appetite, I can't eat together anymore with you, Lexa." Lucian looked at Alexandra's plate that was still full, it made him feel guilty that this woman in front of him was getting insults from other nobles.

He heard from the knights that the gift That Duchess Alexandra received was inferior to that of Duke Everno who was below her.

"No!" alexandra subconsciously shouted, which made everyone's bodies there shocked. While Lucian widened his eyes. He sighed, he knew the value of himself.

"I'm sorry this is an inappropriate one, Lexa."

Alexandra directly held Lucian's hand rashly, her blushing face looked at Lucian with panic that made her eyes look shiny like a blazing fire.

She swallowed her saliva restlessly.

"You don't interfere with my appetite at all."

Lucian glanced at Alexandra who looked uneasy, he was judging Alexandra who was in front of him. From the touch of Alexandra's hand, she could feel Alexandra's rapidly increasing heartbeat.

Lucian sat quietly again, with his attention still on Alexandra who he heard had breathed a sigh of relief.

"So, why don't you eat, Lexa?" asked Lucian in a soft voice and worried look.

[His eyes make me happy... he was worried about me....]

"Because I'm watching you."

Lucian's eyes glowed with curiosity, people didn't seem to be supposed to receive great attention from a big region leader like Rissingshire, he also today received great attention from everyone in this Asteorene empire who was curious about him, apparently and everything about him.

"What's that in a good way, Lexa?"

Lucian's teary eyes made Alexandra excited, she was always weak with that look, washing her away to the point of being able to do anything for Lucian.

"Of course on good terms. Our engagement has been approved by the emperor."

Lucian nodded, only this time he heard the news from Alexandra's mouth, before he heard from someone else's mouth that was so excited. They say that the emperor who was afraid of Rissingshire's existence deliberately accepted Lucian as Alexandra's fiancée so that the emperor's position would not threaten.

"There are a lot of congratulations to us, and you know, we will have an engagement party soon."

Lucian was silent to hear it. The engagement party has always been a concern of the nobles, they will flock to see Alexandra's choice, and not only that, there will always be implicit competition in it.

The rules are not written.

"I can't dance, Lexa," Lucian said, drinking the wine in front of him. Dance? He would do it very stiffly and make Alexandra even more embarrassed.

"It just so happens that I can't dance either. I often spend my time on the battlefield." Alexandra looked at her palm, unlike the usual lady whose hands were very smooth and soft, her hands were full of calluses from swinging the sword thousands of times.

Lucian looked at Alexandra with a concerned look, he realized that Alexandra did not enjoy her youth well. Must bear the burden of the family at a young age, and maintain her power.

Imagining Alexandra, the Lady who was supposed to be at the tea party even at the battle was a bit of irony.

The ladies wore the latest dresses, designed by the best designers in the empire with the best materials. While Alexandra uses heavy armor with a dirty body rarely bathes.

Lucian nodded to Alexandra. Alexandra's hand that beheaded him, was held by Lucian. The callused hand that the noble young masters said was an insult to the Lady, for Lucian this was a great pride.

"Then let's practice dancing together, Lexa. I know you must be very great when you dance." Lucian gave his best smile, which was sweet and melted Alexandra.

Alexandra's heartbeat was irregular.

[What is this?]

There was a sense of warmth flowing from her heart and all over her body, the longer she looked at Lucian, the more incredible she looked so much that he had to turn her attention to other places.

"You don't want to?" asked Lucian, to which Alexandra replied with a shake of her head.

[I would like it, Lucian!]

Lucian was puzzled by Alexandra's reaction which he thought was very much. She had a hard time guessing Alexandra's mood, although she smiled, Alexandra sometimes looked at her fiercely with fiery eyes.

"Lucian, I want to practice dancing. If you were my partner, I think it would be fine."

Alexandra held Lucian's hand tightly, she also felt the calluses in Lucian's hand.

It's stupid for those who say that Lucian can't hold a sword, he has a skill that makes Alexandra curious about him.

"Sure, they'll definitely see how amazing you are at dancing, Alexandra. You are the one who always makes them jealous."

Lucian smiled in a manner typical of his, he liked Alexandra's choice even though she herself was restless.

Meanwhile, Alexandra, who had been holding Lucian's hand, was immersed in her own thoughts about dancing with Lucian.
