Beowulf thought letting her know of that fact would cheer her up. He refused to think about the real reason why the silver spoon hadn't hurt him. He'd briefly wondered if the spoon wasn't real silver but he found out that all the utensils that were used in the kitchen were pure silver. So, why? Beowulf had thought.
"The princess is all healed," Beowulf said. He thought of leaving but at the same time, didn't know if he was talking to a foe or a friend. If he left Esme feeling betrayed, as she looked, she could as well point the guards in his direction if he turned around to leave at that moment.
"And the poison?" Esme asked.
"Gone."
