Beowulf didn't even feel bad about what he did to Esme. She was beginning to ask too many questions, obviously delaying him. It began to seem to Beowulf that she might be delaying him on purpose and he had to leave. She'd served her purpose in his life and he'd shown her his gratitude. He had thanked her and his conscience was free.
From where he stood within the forest, Beowulf could sense some humans lurking at the edges and the entrance to the deep forest. They had come so- close as if they'd known where to find him. However, Beowulf wasn't disturbed as he was homebound now and had achieved what his risk was for. However, how he'd have liked to hug Yuri -- hold her in his arms -- take in her smell as he could never forget about that. Beowulf smiled as he thought about Yuri and adjusted his walking step a little because of some hardening going on between his legs.
