I DIDN'T MOVE, ONLY WATCHED WHEN HE GRABBED me by the collar of my dress. "Have you forgotten everything I have done for you? Everything I have given you, you ungrateful girl! Dare you be disrespectful to me?!" He twisted the material in his hand, "I know you could've gotten that shot, so tell me Lydia why the fuck did you let it go?! Why did you let that monster go?!" He gripped the bone of my jaw and forced me to look at him.
"She." I said quietly, watching his brows furrow.
"What was that?"
"It was a girl, a young scared girl." I screamed in his face, hit tears rolling down my face, "I couldn't allow you to torture her. Two months, father? You kept her down there for two months? You speak of monsters yet you seem to be more monstrous than them."
He slapped me, the contact with my cheek against his rough palm resounding and hard enough to unbalance me. "Please don't do this," I begged him, holding onto his shoulders.
"You disobeyed me. You know what happens when you disobey." He ripped my hands off his shirt, grabbed my wrist, and slammed me against its handrail. I arched my back when my spine made contact with the wood, gasping for air.
Before I could catch my breath he pushed me down the remaining stairs. I fell on my elbows, staring up at him with blurry eyes as he fiddled with his pants and removed his belt, wrapping it inside his palm. "I'll just have to teach you it again in case you've forgotten."
For a minute I was back in the past. Fifteen years old again, screaming for him to stop, 'No, please father, please don't hit me again, I'll kill it next time I promise.'
He whipped the belt at me and all I did was back away on my elbows. It felt as though it was all I could've done. I could not stop him then and I thought I would be able to, now that it's been years later but I turn into that same defenseless girl again.
I tried to move, to fight back but my body remained paralyzed.
I'm still afraid of him.
"Do you remember how it feels?" The whip sliced my cheek, "Huh?" He kicked me to my waist making me turn over onto my stomach.
"I'm not a child anymore—" I didn't get to finish, only screamed when the whip made contact with my back.
"You're not a kid anymore? So you think I can't punish you?" He reclined the whip again and I squirmed due to the force he put into that round.
My skin burned as he pushed the same spot and I cried begging him to stop, "Why? W-what do you want from me?! I always obeyed you."
"What do I want from you?" He set the belt down on the table before he grabbed me by the collar. He set the belt down on the table before he grabbed me by the back of my neck, "You're gonna be a hunter. A good one at that." He twisted the door handle, leading us outside, "One that doesn't spare a single wolf." He continued pushing me, not caring that my feet were dragging behind me and my eyes widened when I noticed where we were going.
The forest.
"Farther please," I begged but he ignored me.
"Since you freed that wolf I'm gonna need one back." He smirked and pushed me forward into the mud at the entrance, "And not just any…you're going to get me an Alpha."
"N-no please father, don't do this." I screamed at him, my throat on fire from the sobbing. "I can't do that. I—" " You owe me a wolf, darling and I want a wolf."
"You know I can't." I tried crawling toward him but he pulled out his gun, cocked it and aimed it at me. My eyes widened.
"Then I guess I don't need you anymore. There is no place in the world for the weak. " His fingers pinched on the trigger and I stored for a while, searching to see if there was any sort of joke or hesitation in his eyes; there was only pure seriousness. He tilted his head toward the forest, ushering me to go, "This is a lesson you will have to learn yourself. You spared a wolf, now let's see if one would spare you."
I stood on my feet, groaning from the pain it brought to my back and turned quickly, sprinting through the bushes and kept running, pushing branches from my face and going further through the darkness.
I came across a stone road, stopping and holding my knees to even my breathing before I walked along it. While following the path, chills went up my neck, there was someone following me. I heard the crunching of the stove behind me and looked over my shoulder. However, I saw nothing.
But the further I walked, the more it followed me. The goosebumps on my skin did not leave. There was most certainly someone following me. And they were getting closer. I spotted a truck, ahead of me parked to the side of the and ran toward it. I knocked on the glass, calling for the man inside.
"Sir? Sir, please let me into your vehicle." I looked behind me and back at the window again, "I think there is someone following me—"
The man unlocked the door and I jumped inside immediately, locking the door.
I held my chest and sighed before coming to the realization that the vehicle was not moving. "Did you not hear me? I think there is someone else out there. Why aren't you driving?" I looked at the man and furrowed my eyes at the calm expression on his face, "Sir?"
The bearded man flashed his silver teeth at me, scratching his temple with his dirty fingers, "Relax, there is no one out there." He placed a hand on my shoulder, "It's just you and I, darlin'."
"But I thought I heard—"
"Nothing. You're safe here." He wore a cheeky grin on his face as he slowly lowered his palm down my arm.
Goosebumps erupted on my skin where he touched and I flinched. I leaned against the door and tried opening it but he placed his hand over mine on the lock. "I think I'll just walk." I turned my face to him, my cheek brushing against his as of how close he was.
"There's no need for that." His hand tightened over mine and he leaned into me, attempting to close off the distance of her lips but I slammed him.
So stubborn." He grabbed my wrist before I could've made a move and pinned them to my sides when he tried to climb over me.
"Please stop." I turned my face away when he tried kissing me again and instead he pressed sloppy kisses against my neck. "Get off of me!" I shifted, just before a loud thud sounded. Something was on the roof. Its heavy footsteps marched along the roof and I screamed when the windshield shattered.
