I DON'T KNOW WHERE I am. And wherever I am, I don't remember how I got here. The mattress below me was soft and rather comforting, so much that I did not wish to open my eyes. I felt like closing everything off around me and sinking into the mattress until I was covered by the sheets and there was nothing else but the moment.
I thought I was going to die. I thought I was already dead but my eyebrows pinched together in one when I realized that there was barely any pain burning my skin. My fingers trembled when I passed them down my chest, instead of my bare skin I felt the rough material of bandages.
I groaned when I pressed my back against the bed's metal headboard and placed my palms on my knees when I hugged it to my chest. I felt saliva on my tongue as I had difficulty swallowing.
My lip folded between my teeth involuntarily due to me not listening to my body's signals that warned me to stop moving.
I placed my leg over my knee and twisted my ankle to examine my calf and while staring at it, I heard the wooden door creak open.
The two guys I met before walked into the room and caught me staring at my calf.
"It'll fully recover soon, give it around five days. " The brown haired guy with light blue eyes folded his hand over his chest before he stepped forward a bit, "I'm Jason."
I only stared at him, the blonde hair one did the same as well.
"Why the hell are you doing name to name, Jason? She doesn't need to know anything about us—"
"That's Adam." Jason blurted with a teasing grin on his face, "Alright, now you're not left out." Adam has blonde short hair, almost in buzz cut with golden eyes, that complimented his tan skin tone.
Adam narrowed his eyes at him with bared teeth, "You're stupid." He pronounced every letter of his sentence.
While they argued the door knob behind them was being twisted open. The two men turned to the door just when he entered. Tall and strong with his head held high, he murmured to them a single word, "Leave."
Jason and Adam exited the room without a word said in return.
The man's eyes met mine when they left and he positioned himself in the corner of the room.
There was a thick tension in the room and I straightened myself, challenging his stare. My eyes were slightly squinted since they hadn't fully adjusted to the lighting.
His eyes took long blinks as he stared at me and when he licked his lips my eyes immediately drifted to them.
He finally opened his mouth to speak, "We weren't done with our conversation from earlier." His eyes then fell to my calf, "I see that your wounds are healing."
"You made it hard to." I told him without hesitation and I saw his jaw clenched.
"The hands which touched you were none of mine. Trust me if they were, you wouldn't be able to recover." He said honestly, showing his canines.
There was silence again but this time he started walking over to the bed, his steps were precise and not rushed. The mattress on which he sat sank underneath him and I flinched when his palm covered my entire neck, thankfully he didn't add any weight, "Who exactly are you, Miss Lydia?"
I lifted my chin to him, my eyes scanning over all of his details, "Why are you curious?" I tilted my head to the side, "I don't know who you are either."
"I'm sure you do." He whispered against my lips before he abruptly pulled away, agitation in his steps when he walked toward the door. He gazed back at me, "You will stay here." He said before he disappeared behind the door and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
My father's words suddenly appeared in my head from the night he left me at the forest, 'You owe me a wolf, darling and I want a wolf.'
But how do I capture the Alpha? He may kill me before I can even try. I'm in his territory, I'm his prey and I'm sure he has ideas of his own planned out for me.
I laid flat against the mattress and stared up at the concrete ceiling, 'Once again, my father has made me surrender to him. He's put me through many tests but this is one I can't see the early vision of succession.'
The knock on the door grabbed me back to reality. "Lydia?" The girl I freed from the bunker peeked her face through the door before she entered. She stared at me for a moment and let out a sigh, "You're alive, thank goodness. I thought Alpha Lucian got rid of you behind my back.
Lucian. That is his name.
I raised a brow at her, "You sound as though you're happy to see me, are your emotions mixed up?" I joked and she shook her head, cancelling my statement.
"I'm not. We are not friends and never will be and I truly do not care about a human's wellbeing. I'm only returning the chance you gave me so that there would be nothing standing in front of my hate toward you." The girl snarled and I pursed my lips.
"I see." I told her and then let my eyes wander to what she was holding in her hands.
"It's cleaned clothes. Alpha ordered that you take a bath and change into these." She placed it on the bed. I don't know how I seem to have forgotten the fact that my drenched dress smelled of fresh blood.
Looking around the small room I then asked, "I don't see a bathroom."
"Sorry." She cleared her throat, "I seemed to forget to inform you that he wants you to join him at the bath."
My eyes widened slightly and I held my chest when I coughed, "Excuse me?"
