Chereads / CURSED TO BECOME THE DARKNESS / Chapter 17 - New Home

Chapter 17 - New Home

Rose stared blankly into space as the car moved ever so slowly towards her new home. The moment she had walked out of the dining room she had known Scott's order was final and there was no changing it but still yet she had wished she could turn back the hands of time and prevented her stubborn self from breaking into Liam's Manor.

Her eyes were red and puffy from all the crying she had been doing which had done nothing but made her feel weak and sleepy. She rested her head on the glass window as she stared out the road watching people walk by and vehicles speed pass them as well.

She had never known her birth parents, she grew up knowing only Scott and the people who resided in the safe Haven. She never thought of leaving the place one day, she just never thought of it at all.

The car took a left turn, still driving slowly and then another left turn before finally stopping in front of three comfortable buildings surrounded by small gates and a nice looking front yard.

She remaining seated in the car until the man that had been driving the car tapped her window. She quickly jolted in surprise before stepping out of the car on her own.

He held her suit case as he led the way to the front door. After ringing the bell twice, they waited patiently for someone to arrive and indeed, the door flew open and a fair skinned boy with long wavy black hair stood in front of them, his grey eyes were surprisingly catchy.

Rose found herself staring into them to the extent she forgot that she had been fucking sad just a moment ago. The sound of someone clearing their throat brought her out of her reverie only for her to realize that the grey eyes staring back at her did not belong to a boy but to a middle aged woman.

She could have sworn she saw a very handsome boy standing in front of her, she thought within as her eyes roamed around the compound and then went back to the woman's face whose smile had started to fall.

It was then Rose realized that the woman's hands were outstretched in the form of an hug and she was already retracting them. They fell back on her sides as she managed to smile at Rose even though the disappointment.

" Roseline right, come in", she said, her voice sounding like the most beautiful melody Rose had ever listened to. Rose's face remained blank though as she stepped into the house alongside the man who carried her bag handing it to a man dressed as a Butler.

" I'm so sorry I haven't introduced myself, My name is Carla Jones Alvarez, you can call me Carla or mom, which ever one you prefer", the woman said cheerfully with a smile, her hair was blonde in color and tied in a neat bun so different from the black short wavy hair Rose had seen.

" Well, my husband and I thought you looked really pretty in picture who knew you looked more better in reality Roseline", Carla said with a laugh as she led them to the spacious living room where the TV was left on.

" You both should have a seat and I will get you something to drink", Carla suggested, turning off the TV and heading out but before she could leave, the driver stood up to stop her.

" No Mrs Alvarez, I've just done my duty in bringing home your daughter. I'll take your leave now", he said humbly but Carla countered him and they ended up bantering for a long time totally forgetting Rose.

Rose stared at the cream colored walls of the house. Her dark eyes taking each and every place, her eyes unconsciously trailed to the stairs as she stared at two pair of bare feet.

She frowned looking upwards to see the young boy from before, he looked exactly her age and his enthralling grey eyes sparkled along with him. He furrowed his brows as his eyes widened in realization.

She turned to stare at the driver and Carla who were now talking about something else, something about Scott, could they not actually see anyone else.

She turned around only to find him two feet away from her and she gasped, a bit startled by his sudden closeness, drawing attention to herself.

Carla and the driver stared at her with furrowed brows and she stared back at them as well. So they could not see the boy, did this mean that the house Scott sent her to has something to do with the Supernatural.

She just relaxed herself as she stared Carla straight in the eyes finally making an attempt to speak to her adopted mother.

" Carla please show me to my room", she said standing up decisively but her voice came out cold. Carla stared at her softly before nodding to the driver and leading her upstairs. The poor woman thought it was because Rose was badly missing home.

She took Rose to a room with absolutely no design. Just a big white bed and a wardrobe, a small couch and then a dressing table being the only occupants in the room.

" I didn't design it because I thought you would want to design it however you wished", Carla's voice sounded behind her and she turned to stare at the smiling woman who quickly drew her into her arms.

" I've always wanted to have a daughter Roseline, I hope you feel the same about me", Carla said softly hugging Rose as her divine scent hit Rose hard.

It was so calm and sweet that she immediately relaxed into the woman's arms. Why did she feel like she was home. This wasn't her home, the safe haven was and she would do everything in her power to make Scott forgive her so she could live there once again.

She immediately left the woman's embrace as she created a small gap between them. " Please don't get me wrong Carla but I need space to think", she said softly not wanting to look into the woman's grey eyes.

Carla nodded in understanding as she made her way to the door. " Call me if you need me", she said softly before closing the door behind her and leaving Rose all alone in the room.

Rose stood there for a long time staring at the blank walls of her room. It was so different from the room she occupied in the safe haven, she really missed everything about that place and she wished this was all a bad dream that she would wake up from but no it wasn't, she had been freaking banished.

She fell on the soft bed, crying ever so silently as memories of her time in the safe haven flowed through her system leaving her sad and lonely.
