Chapter 60 - Annabel

"Meaning?"

"You like her don't you?" Sara said looking at Joshua weirdly.

"Me? How? What are you even saying?" Joshua asked, staring at her.

"You like her." Sara spoke calmly.

"No I don't." Joshua protested, his gaze shifted from Sara.

"You can't even lie, see even your eyes are saying the truth." Sara scoffed.

"No matter how hard you try to say no, your heart knows that the answer is yes." Sara stated as her gaze on Joshua deepened.

"You like her and it's obvious." Sara said, pointing at his face.

"Really? I mean-"

"You don't have to say anything just know one thing about Ariana...she doesn't forgive anyone who betrays her."

"But no matter what I'll support you." Sara smiled sweetly.

JOSHUA'S POV:

I just can't seem to think straight anymore. What Sara told me is still bothering me. Do I really like Ariana or it's just some infatuation and what's with the betrayal stuff and does it have anything to do with Evan.

"Urgh...my head hurts." I said, rubbing my forehead slightly.

"I need to stop thinking about this things." I said to myself and opened the fridge to get a bottled water when my phone started ringing.

I brought out the phone and frowned as the name of the caller came to view.

"Annabel."

"Why is she calling?"

ARIANA'S POV:

"Evan...I'm sorry for not telling you about this before, mum just unexpected agreed." I apologized.

"No it's nothing, what do you need my help for?" He asked.

"Actually, I need your help for the project." I smiled nervously.

To be honest I don't need any help for the project I just wanted some alone time with him but it seems I didn't make the right choice. I just don't feel comfortable around him like the way I used to before. It looks like my feelings for him just disappeared into thin air. But how? Dad was actually right when he said that such things don't last for long but it's been three years how?

"Ariana, do you like Joshua?" Evan suddenly asked as I looked at him, my mouth formed an o shape.

"I meant that do you like Joshua been around you?"

"I...yes...I mean no, he's just a good friend of mine."

"Are you sure, I hope you remember what kind of guy Joshua is?" He asked in a serious tone looking at me with a confused expression.

"Yes and he's just a friend of mine." I replied.

"Is that a problem?"

"No, I'm just asking...so the project I'll help with it, I'll send the link once I get home."

"Thanks."

"Sure."
