Inna slowly opened her eyes. Although her body did not want to cooperate, she stood up. She was no longer hungry, nor tired. Inna thought out loud. "What was with that dream. Although, it did answer some things for me at least."
.....
Inna had been out for about a day. During that time, she was trapped within a space of darkness. Nowhere she went had any way out and all of her yells were lost to the void. After half a day of aimless wandering and nothing but her own echoes, a voice did speak to her, although it sounded godly and annoyed Inna for some reason that she was unaware of.
"Void child, your tyranny begins anew."
Inna felt confusion before lifetimes of memories rushed to her in a wave. At first it was painful, as her mind burned and her body seized. She thought for sure she was going to pass out or die. Seemingly an eternity later, and an hour had passed. A panting Inna remained, extremely exhausted.
Inna had lived multiple distinct lives. Each one was seemingly more impressive than the last. Her last life was by far the most ambitious. It ended with her killing every god, minor, major, it didn't matter to her. Previously, Inna had occupied the Empress seat more than a few times, been appointed Queen on numerous occasions, and had even become a crime lord once or twice. She had lived almost any life there was for her to live, and with the Gods eliminated, she didn't know what to do. Thus, Inna deliberated for a moment, and decided that she would just try and enjoy herself this time. She was pretty sure that she was the strongest being that existed on this planet, perhaps the multiverse. She wasn't exactly sure on that, but she was pretty certain.
Inna opened her palm and held it upright as a white flash of light blinded her. When her vision cleared, she was lying on the ground face down. She quietly muttered to herself before standing up. "Annoying."
Inna had regained her memories, and in doing so, she regained all of her former strength. She snapped her fingers, as magic rushed out from the sound. She mapped out the entire forest and mentally noted where each beast was occupying. Inna then set off walking towards the nearest town, intending to determine which universe and realm she could have ended up on.
.....
Inna now stood in front of two town guards. They wore basic metal armor and had soul weapons in their hand. They both spoke to Inna, but she looked mildly annoyed.
The walk from the forest to town was extremely uneventful. No creatures or even people bothered Inna. Her now immortal body had stopped craving food, sweating, or getting uncomfortable at all. She cloaked her strength so no one except major divine beings could possibly perceive it. The walk was surprisingly peaceful.
.....
Inna walked for quite some time, and was finally standing in front of the town's guards. Her face was clearly annoyed, and she seemed a bit frustrated. It was quite clear that Inna couldn't understand the language.
'Odd, I must not be in any of the previous universes I have been to. This problem is peculiar, but it's a minor annoyance.'
Inna held up one finger as she said "One minute guys". The guards had no idea what was said, but her one finger gave them an idea. Magic surged towards her, as information and understanding filled her mind. She had used magic to learn the language, startling the guards.
The guards were surprised. Most people in their kingdom had physical prowess, it was rare for one to have Magic. They waited for the young girl to conclude her spell. All in all, it took around 15 seconds.
(Inna was extremely powerful, however, she was sorely lacking when it came to utility spells. She enjoyed battle, and acknowledged herself as a true battle maniac. Nonetheless, she still learned all manner of spells, she just didn't excessively train in them.)
"Anddd....Done. Can you guys understand me now?" She spoke softly. She had turned off her charm nearly as soon as she woke up the second time. She didn't like having it on, it would only cause chaos.
The guards nodded and spoke with a pleasant tone. "We can understand you fine now. You have our apologies for the delay. If you don't already have an Identification Ring, IR for short, you can obtain one from the Adventurer's Association."
Inna nodded "Is there any specific thing I have to do to obtain an IR?"
The guard thoughtfully added. "The Adventurer's Association will help you to the best of their ability. You're clear to head on in now."
The guards stepped aside and motioned for her to enter. Inside, the town seemed relatively under developed. The roads were made of dirt, the houses looked worn down and old. Almost all of the buildings were made of wood, aside from the church, which Inna scoffed at.
The Adventurer's Association (AA) was a very large and round building. It resembled an old viking drinking hall. The outside walls were decorated with various symbols and family crests. The doors of the building were large doors that swung open, like a midwestern saloon door.
When Inna entered, she immediately recognized the atmosphere. It was her favorite aesthetic. A gruff and rowdy group of free-spirited people. Everyone's faces were glowing, it was loud, drinks were being passed around, people were arm wrestling...everyone was having fun. Inna lived for this kind of atmosphere. Her mood instantly relaxed when she entered.
The building itself had two floors. The second one was almost empty, and the first one was where all the fun seemed to be. A set of plain stairs led up to the second floor, and at the back of the building next to the stairs sat a desk that resembled a very long table. Three receptionists remained behind the desk. They sat about five feet from each other. Each receptionist rested on a chair. With them, they had a stamp, a crystal ball and multiple stacks of paper. Despite the distance between them, they were obviously gossiping and chatting amongst each other. Occasionally they would say something to the multiple men and women who carried drinks to and from a door near the desk.
Surprisingly, no one had batted a second eye at Inna when she entered. She walked up to the first receptionist completely uninterrupted.
Inna spoke calmly. "Excuse me. I just arrived here. The guards at the front gate directed me here, something about an Identification Ring?"
The receptionist blanched for a moment. "It's rare to see someone without one. I assume you're unfamiliar with protocol. We'll test your soul here, and it'll be recorded into a ring. Just place your hand on the crystal ball and the rest will be taken care of." She smiled while motioning towards the crystal ball sitting on the desk.
Inwardly, Inna frowned. 'Great. Another soul test. pain in my ass.' Outwardly she said "Of course". Inna placed her hand on the device, and soon enough. A number popped up. It read M-150.
The receptionist paused for a moment. "Excuse me, what's your name?"
"Inna.."
The receptionist's eyes glowed blue, as her gaze seemed vacant for a moment. She spoke in a perplexed tone of voice. "You're not registered on any of the Academy databases. Sadly, I can't give you an IR without that happening. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, but the kingdom makes everyone above 75 soul strength go through Academy training. It's for everyone's safety."
