"Mommy, what's wrong?" Gloria asked as she could sense her mother's uneasiness. "Oh! Nothing," Gloria's mother replied, trying to sound as calm as possible, sneaking a peek behind them. This however, did not go unnoticed by Gloria, she wished to see what was behind them that had put her mother in such a state.
When Gloria turned her head around, she saw a man following them from few meters away, he was tall and muscular but she could not make out his face.
As Gloria was still trying to puzzle out who this man was, her mother's grip around her hand tightened and she quickened their pace. Gloria was still trying to comprehend what was happening and decided to take another look behind them only to see that the man had also increased his pace. Gloria was starting to get scared, she looked up at her mother's face only to see one filled with fear. "Mommy, I'm scared," Gloria said as she held tightly onto her mother's hand. "Don't worry, it will all be fine," Gloria's mother said with an uncertain tone.
Gloria's mother took a deep breath before quickly sprinting across the road holding onto Gloria firmly. As Gloria looked back, she saw that man had stopped on the other side of the road and was no longer following them, she let out a sigh of relief as her nerves began to settle down.
Just as they were about to make a corner, another man appeared in front of them and grabbed onto Gloria's mother. "Mommy!" Gloria screamed as she watched her mother try to struggle free from the man's grip. "Gloria, run!" Gloria's mother shouted in a shaky voice, "Don't let them get you! Go! Please!"
Gloria was still in shock, she didn't want to leave her mother behind but when she looked into her eyes, she could see the absolute fear and worry in them. Gloria had no other choice, she ran as fast as she could across the street into an alley where she hid behind a dumpster. Gloria's heart was pounding and her legs could not stop shaking, her head felt like it was about to explode as tears streamed down her face.
At the entrance of the alley, Gloria heard footsteps approaching, she covered her mouth and slowly backed up as her heart thumped louder and louder until she bumped into something. Upon looking back, Gloria was met with a terrifying sight, she had bumped into the tall man from before and she could now see his face clearly, it was so horrendous that she let out a blood-curdling scream. The man grabbed onto Gloria and pulled her out of the alley and towards a black van, she tried to struggle and break free but it was all in vain, "No! No! Mommy! MOMMY!" she screamed as she was pulled into it's darkness.
Gloria's eyes shot open and she sat up on her bed panting heavily, her bed drenched in sweat, she looked around confused, "It was just a dream," she sighed with relief as she jumped out of bed and started calling out for her mother. Suddenly. Gloria felt a hand go over her mouth, "Shh! Shut up, or he'll hear you again," a voice said to her.
As Gloria was still in shock about the hand over her mouth, the door to the room burst open and a man holding a whip walked in. Gloria's blood ran cold when she saw the man's face, it was the tall man from her dream. "You stupid little b****, how many times have I told you not to run that little mouth of yours!" the man said as he grabbed Gloria by the hair and threw her against the wall. "You are such a pest and a pain in my arse, you're lucky that our clients pay big for foreign pigs like you and your mother, otherwise I'd have just gotten rid of you." Gloria's mind went blank, she was too appalled to say or do anything, she broke down and started sobbing on the ground. "We need to work on that attitude of yours," the man said as he played with the whip, "Everyone, get out!" he barked. Twelve girls in tattered clothes ran out of the room, he closed the door behind them and all that could be heard afterwards were cracks of a whip and shrieks of pain.
