Vain quickly pushed the Hound's corpse off and got ready for anything else to come out of the room.
The house quickly became quiet. Only the sounds of heavy breathing was left without any other sound. After waiting a full minute Vain let go of his tense position and stopped pushing Abigale against the wall.
"Was that really necessary? I was fine and could deal with it by myself."
Vain looked at the girl like she was crazy, "Sure as long as by 'deal with it' you mean having a chunk bit out of your neck and the Hound choking on your flesh."
Abigale rolled her eyes and just turned away to explore the last room in the house. Vain couldn't really do anything, so without any more thought, he simply put away his gun and held his sword out ready to protect the girl in case of something that would hide in the dark.
