It was not easy. The two had already known that even before they fought against Alita. The two could not make a single mistake as they attacked the woman.
She taught them everything they knew. However, that did not mean that she knew everything that the twins had up their sleeves.
Alita kept Sebastian close and fought him with martial arts. This was to limit the area of effect of the Eyes of Chaos.
"I know that martial arts isn't your strong suit either, Sebastian."
Alita commented, smacking Sebastian in the face—he quickly recovered, dragging the back of her leg with his foot, causing her to drop to a single knee.
Instead of kicking her in the face, Sebastian grabbed her and threw her into the air.
Crimson lightning struck her, sending her through several walls and into a room.
She was able to endure it due to the Eye of Order's barrier. (The Eye of Order exists to counteract the Eye of Chaos.)
Sebastian walked into the room Alita landed in.
"That's an interesting way to use the Eye of Order, Calira."
The mirage of Sebastian, faded, replaced by his twin, Calira.
"Give up, mother. We're not trying to hurt you seriously."
"Then you'll have to work harder."
Alita went on the offensive, she clashed with Calira, gaining the upper hand before condensing her barrier around her fist, smacking Calira in the face.
Sebastian ran in, clashing with Alita, as the Eye of Order partially nullified the Eye of Chaos' destructive capabilities.
Alita managed to push Sebastian back, searching for Calira.
"I'm honestly getting slightly bored."
She said, still looking for her daughter.
Sebastian, with the Eye of Chaos, was not that much of a problem compared to his sly and skilful sister, Calira.
The Eye of Chaos could be partially nullified with the Eye of Order. However, the Eye of Order could not nullify itself.
Calira was far shrewder than her mother. Alita found that Calira could use the Eye of Order better than Alita herself could. But, Alita's mana potency was stronger than Calira's.
"Hm?"
Alita turned around, looking at Sebastian. He was chanting under his breath. The woman smiled.
"You sure have the guts, Sebastian. I almost feel proud."
She teased.
From behind, Calira appeared with a flame in her hand. Instinctively, Alita jumped out of the way—Sebastian's spell and Calira's spell collided, pouring steam into the room.
"A smokescreen?!"
Alita was still able to see due to her Eye of Order. It was a futile attempt at blinding her. Calira knew that, and so did Sebastian.
(Why did they do that?)
Alita thought.
She could see, but only blurry hazes. Not only that, it would impair their vision. Or, at least, Sebastian's.
The moment Alita saw a silhouette, she attacked with a small knife of mana. The silhouette moved.
She saw another. She attacked it. Her knife missed.
(What is this...)
There were multiple silhouettes, running about. They either had a masculine or feminine figure, but, it was difficult to tell which one was real.
Perhaps, none of them were real. It was up to Alita to decide.
(She's probably expending a lot of mana making these illusions. If she's anywhere, she would be in a place where she could see all of this happening.)
Alita looked up at the hole in the ceiling.
Calira was bound to be there. The woman jumped up.
She was shot by a boulder of red lighting. For the first time, she took slight damage while also breaking two of her ribs, which took the impact head-on.
The steam disappeared outwards, as Sebastian and Calira revealed themselves. They stood in front of Alita.
"You kids have gotten smarter..."
She grunted.
Calira used the Eye of Order to create multiple illusions. She observed from the hole in the ceiling while Sebastian hid among the illusions. Though he could not see, he would be able to target Alita as soon as she would jump at the hole.
The girl made a rope from mana, using her Eye of Order, and walked toward Alita to tie her up.
"I guess I've been playing with you kids too much."
"You won't fool me."
Calira said.
The woman smiled.
·———·
Grand Predator.
It was the title given to the strongest person, around 2000 years ago. That title did not go to Indraith Vritra, as he was not the strongest. It went to the Emperor and Mortal Sin, Rose.
Incidentally, just like Altair, Rose became an Emperor without a Singularity. The one with the title, Grand Predator, gets a powerful Singularity, gifted by Regulus.
The Singularity's name was Finality.
Final. The end. That was it. That was what her Singularity name meant.
Whoever she faced when using Finality, would not survive.
"You won't kill me?"
Indraith asked, at Aden-Lada's mercy. He was sitting on his throne, dressed with injuries, looking at Aden-Lada.
"I don't need to kill you. You're not even at full strength yet. Besides, killing you would cause the other guys to act up and I don't want to deal with them."
She said, thinking about the other Mortal Sins.
"They're all weird."
"Like you're to talk."
Lilia walked toward the two. Sideri was laying on the ground behind her.
"What—"
"She's enjoying a nice time with her beloved Dragon King. In her mind, of course."
Indraith smiled wryly at the two Emperors.
"My pride has been shattered but it was my own fault, I would say."
Indraith was a prideful dragon but no one who prioritised everything on pride. Though he prides himself in almost everything, once again, his previous streak of being unbeaten, was broken. By the same person.
"Hm?"
Indraith seemed slightly perplexed as he turned to look in a different direction.
"What is this?"
For once, the Dragon King's entire demeanour changed.
"Alexander is..."
Lilia also looked in the direction he was looking and smiled. She whistled.
"Looks like Shoya is putting on a show. But, I wonder... Is that truly the answer?"
