Rosaline realized it was indeed her mistake for not listening to Jedediah.
"You should have told me the truth even if I assumed it," she said and turned to go back when Jedediah grasped her wrist.
"Kittie, there is a ghost in front of you," Jedediah whispered in her ear, who jumped from her place and started to scream at the top of her lungs. Because of the fear, she buried her face in his chest and tightly gripped his shirt.
Jedediah was trying hard not to laugh but could not stop himself from doing so for long. He again burst out in laughter.
Rosaline confusedly peered at him and turned to look. To her surprise, there was nothing. She could not believe that Jedediah was making fun of her situation again.
She hit him on his chest, and Jedediah stopped laughing.
She stepped back and brought her palms over her mouth. She was not supposed to hit him. She could see the grim expression that appeared on his grimace.
