The sudden pull made Rosaline trip over Jedediah. Her lips were only an inch away from his cheek.
It was a narrow escape for her as she recalled Jedediah's earlier condition, where he clearly mentioned if she repeated any such mistake, she had to take the responsibility.
She quickly leaned back and peered into his deep red eyes.
"Jed, why did you pull me?" She complained in confusion.
"I did not tell you to leave, Rose," Jedediah asserted.
"But I was supposed to leave as I was tired and sleepy," Rosaline said and tried to move as far as he could.
Jedediah pressed his hand on her lower waist and drew her closer. "I know you are not sleepy," he said.
From where did he get that confidence? He was right. She was not sleepy, but she wanted to escape his sight.
"I am indeed sleepy, Jed," Rosaline said with a firm tone.
