Chapter 4 - The Spy

HAWAII ISLAND

Somewhere far away from the merriments happening on the island; was an underground bunker.

With a perfectly hidden entrance lid that was carmouflaged with green leaves to suit the environment and deceive the third parties. Although it was camouflaged, it was still very easy to discover if one put much attention to it.

But who cared to. This was Hawaii.

Everyone would be busy enjoying the best moment of their lives. And on the feasibility that they get bored, this was the last place they'd put in mind.

Not even some bunch of curious kids would dare venture to this part of the island. Mostly because of the barricades placed around the place.

No one knew why. And as said before,

No one cared.

Under the entrance was a wide space, filled with all sorts of large brown boxes.

Some men could be seen on some of the boxes. Discussing on different topics or whatever it seemed like they were doing.

They all had something in uniformity, and it began with their perfectly tailored black tuxedoes and white inner shirt, to their asian looks.

Bright dull bulbs was placed overhead them, dimly illuminating the place.

"Hello!" A loud call came from the entrance area as they all paused their activities to face the direction.

A short Chinese man stood there, with a briefcase clamped protectively to his chest. He had a pair of spectacles positioned on top of his nose.

"Zixuan…" One of the men said from the boxes he sat on, his words echoing through the silent bunker. He hopped down from the box he sat on, as the others did the same, "You're late."

Zixuan, the short man stared at the suited men as they approached him, "I'm sorry. I was delayed."

"Well that wasn't the agreement had with us, was it?" The one who had spoke earlier, questioned the visibly scared man as he was now at a stride covering distance to him. He grinned at the fear he had inflicted in him.

"I.. I'm sorry Li Jie." He gulped, his eyes facing downwards.

The man looked at his almost bald hair,

"Well, I'm in a good mood today Zixuan. You know why?"

Zixuan looked up at his smirking face, and rolled his head.

"Because today marks the end of the month. You know what that means? It means payday."

Zixuan smiled nervously, "I'm glad."

"Oh you should. It just saved you a surgery bill." Li-Jie smiled at his startled face, "The package?"

Zixuan hastily handed the briefcase over to him as he collected it and confirmed its content. He nodded as he zipped it up and gave it to one of the men behind him.

He then turned to the short man, "You can leave now. My regards to mister Ho."

He nodded quickly as he was relieved by those words, he almost always lost his grip whenever it was his turn to represent his organization in its exchange with the Triads. These particular division made it always a horrid experience every single time.

He turned to go but his action was stopped when he noticed another person walking towards where they were.

And then a voice came from the same direction.

"I'm afraid that won't be happening," The voice said softly as the Triad members immediately pulled out their glocks and pointed it to the approaching figure from the shadows.

The figure emerged from the darkness to reveal an averagely tall man, also dressed in a black suit with a white inner shirt, although his attire was distinct from theirs, due to the lack of black tie around his neck and the notable difference in design and quality.

Even lacking the tie, his neatness didn't escape their notice.

His hair was perfectly gelled forward, coat's buttons were clasped together as his inner shirt's first button was left opened. A small smile on his disturbingly attractive face.

Held by his left hand, was a bottle of half consumed liquor.

"Atleast not after I get what I came for." He added quickly as he motioned his other hand to them.

"Is he with you?" Their leader said to Zixuan as he rolled his head negatively, he turned back to the mysterious man, "You seem to have lost your way young man. Get out of here now and live!"

The mysterious man stood on the spot as he watched Li-Jie speak. He then proceeded to do something that left them confused and in bemuse.

He took up the liquor and gulped down the remaining of its content, while pointing out his index finger. Gesturing them to hold on.

They looked disturbingly at their leader, who only made a side glance at them to hold fire. Glaring back at the man curiously.

Although they all had confused faces. The one expressed on the face of Zixuan was one of fear and realization. He slowly made steps backwards.

The man, after gulping down the content. Immediately smashed the bottle on the ground.

"Nothing more orgasmic like a drink of fine Smirnoff, am I right?" He chuckled, "Now to the main issue, the briefcase, hand it over."

The men exchanged glances and immediately burst into a bout of laughter, as Li-Jie summoned up a clenched fist as they all resumed silence.

"Or what?" He asked, much curiously.

The man calmly smiled, "Trust me. You don't wanna know."

"Oh, I think I do."

The man nodded, "You don't know who i am. Good, makes this a memorable first encounter." He smiled as he slowly advanced, although they were still several meters away. While they thought he was coming to them, he was actually moving near the several large boxes, stacked over themselves.

"So this is how it's going to go, there are twelve of you," He scanned them as he advanced, guns still pointed at him, "I'll start with little jet li here, breaking his arm before I move to the bald one; some rounds of punches before finally breaking his ribs," He pointed at each one of them accordingly, at the same time, jotting each of their faces, "Then I slam your fist on his face till he passes out, before headbutting you. Break his leg, his leg and your leg."

He winked at the one he had personalized, before continuing with his talk that seemed to amuse their leader, "Your face goes hardly to the ground, while his face gets drilled with my fist. I break your rib, your rib. And then, you!" He stared at the leader.

"Since you are the one who has been talking. I'll spare you the privilege of suspense."

"You done?"

"What? No, of course not. I haven't gotten to the thrashing part." He smirked.

Li-Jie nodded, "When you get to whatever place your belief calls afterlife. Send my regards to your fellow Americans." He said as he turned, "Waste him."

*Bang!*

Before the first bang, the man had quickly taken cover behind one of the boxes beside him. As the men fired.

He smiled behind the box when he realized they had ceased fire and were advancing towards him. He shoved his hand into his breast pocket as he took out a round disc like object, that seemed mechanic in design. Its size nothing bigger than an adult's palm.

He made a brief peep behind the box to check their distance, and immediately lowered his head as several bullets rained down. He flicked a button on the side of the disc and threw it backwards at them.

They looked down at the disc that landed in their midst. And watched it reform and configure into a much larger disc with a bright light tracing around its round edge.

And to their surprise, their glocks became incredibly attracted to it; the force almost like a gorilla weighing tons was trying to snatch the guns from them.

Eventually, they all released the guns as it fastened quickly to the magnet's surface. Leaving them now unarmed.

"Super magnets. One of my favorites."

They all faced his direction to see him now directly in front of them

"Gun Dan. Kill him now! Carve his head for Jai-Lee." The leader caused, visibly angered by the man's seemingly endless drama.

The man snapped his neck, left to right as he watched them carefully. They faced themselves, and immediately hurtled at him at once, as he resumed a fighting stance, stylishly waving his buttoned coat backward.

The first fist slammed at him, as he skillfully side-stepped to the incoming leg from another. Catching the kick by surprise, obviously the Triad hadn't expected his quick move and sudden balance even after it.

The man instantly went down, sweeping off his other leg from the ground as he fell down hardly. He then looked up at the approaching ones, as if searching for someone.

*Bingo!*

Not waiting for the rest to reach him, he immediately sprinted for them. Dodging the first three attacks like they didn't even happen, as he had swiftly appeared in front of a short one.

He smiled at him as he suddenly sent out a palm push to his chest, greatly dwindling the latter's balance. A kick came from behind him as he shifted his weight to the side, causing the kick to land on the short one's face.

Not allowing the attacker to go scot-free, he held unto his leg before it got retracted, sending a heavy elbow blow to its femur joint.

The scream of agony came just as soon as he had landed the blow. He caught sight of an incoming attack as he let go of the broken leg.

The short one had returned again.

The latter sent out a punch as it was effortlessly caught by him.

Using the caught fist, the man was able to pull him closer as he sent the side of his palm to his incoming and exposed throat, stunting his breath.

Before then shifting the fist's arm to an irregular position, causing a loud creak as the man's scream was incredibly low due to his recently damaged larynx.

A waving leg came from the man's front as he took two steps back, bouncing to their middle.

Or to their trap, as they'd like to call it.

He was now surrounded by them. Their number had reduced to ten, since he had dealt a restraining blow to two.

He watched them as they all took time deliberating on their next mode of attack.

Initially, he had the intention of dealing with them sequentially, according to the pattern he had mentioned each, which was why he had attacked the short one first. But now, he knew it would be time wasting doing that.

Instead, he was going random. A much faster way to end the fight.

He grinned, "Are we going to stare at each other all day or are we going to get to your ass whooping."

They shot from all directions, each with different attack method. He had previously studied their distance, and as quickly as the first punch lashed out, He was able to weave it, simultaneously arching his back to the side to shift his position away from a low blow from behind.

He made a short spin in the air to avoid a sweeping kick, landing down with a kick of his own to the head of the one who had just attacked him. The weight of his kick was so mighty that immediately it touched his head, his face was knocked to the ground violently, sending him to oblivion.

"Yarrg!"

A punch came from his side as he took it, like he had expected it beforehand, diverting it to the face of the one coming from the opposite direction. While holding onto his jacket before he staggered back from the punch.

He could sense a fast break in the air behind his neck as he swifty moved his position, pulling the one he had held his fist, towards the direction of the attack as the punch slammed hardly on his face.

The man, using the brief moment of balance lost by the one who had previously attacked him. Immediately sent a kick to a precise point in his lower body.

His rib!

The man's face squirmed in anguish as he went low by the sudden blow, his pain was accompanied by a head stomp that banged his head to the ground.

Meanwhile, the man's grip was still around the two he had held earlier. And without wasting much time with them, he held even more hardly to the fist and diverted it once more to the face of the one whose collar he held. Knocking him out before letting go of him.

And then he faced the one whose hand he held, sending his head directly to his weak face before letting go.

Two kicks was sent before him as he immediately slapped the first kick to the side and then focused on the second.

Grabbing it in the air and suddenly going low to send a powerful kick to the fellow's other leg, kicking it backwards to the extreme. Causing the man a forceful split that would definitely guarantee a groin injury.

"Aarh!" He shouted as he repeatedly slammed the floor out of pain.

The man smiled as he turned to face the last four of them, although there should be five. If not for the leader who was already making a run for it with the briefcase, alongside the short spectacled man.

"No you don't." The man spoke out as he snapped out a button from his blazer, before spinning it towards him. The button spun round towards his direction, before sharply piercing into his left leg as he fell to the ground with a groan.

Although he allowed the spectacled man leave, as he wasn't of any bother to him.

The time he had wasted in watching and attacking the leader had been put to the advantage of the four in front of him.

As a punch had landed on his distracted face, moving him several steps back.

He stopped on his tracks as he came to terms with the sudden blow. He slowly touched his lip and lifted the blood to view.

The expression on his face changed instantly as he turned to them.

By the looks, they weren't bothered by this as they each advanced with attacks.

He dodged the first blow, immediately moving to the back of the attacker, both of them now facing either way, and then he held his hair backward, sending an elbow smash to his spinal area.

Ignoring his scream, he strode to the next attacker whose fist he side-stepped and in an instant, had appeared just beside his face.

He grabbed his neck, swiftly shoving him upwards before using his other arm to swipe his hanging leg backwards and immediately letting go of him. Setting out his knee to his calculated landing point, Causing him to land neck first on the extended knee. No scream was made.

A kick cut through the side of his ear as he swiftly spun around with a kick of his own that was sent to the approaching leg, projecting it to another target.

Since he had the upper hand of balancing first, the man had swiftly sent both of his hands, in a position that seemed like a tiger's paw to the two sides of his vulnerable stomach.

A breaking sound was heard by the rib's area, followed by a strong shout.

A punch was sent from his back as he moved his face to the side, allowing the punch to drive forward to his trap. He held the punch with his right hand, elbowing the arm's joint with his left arm as the bone shifted upward irregularly as seen through the skin.

He let go of him as his scream crackled through his ear.

He then looked around to see all of them on the ground, either nursing out their pain or knocked out. Or possibly killed.

He jerked up his suit, almost like a signature move.

He then turned to the direction of their leader to see him slowly getting up after failed attempts to pull out the strangely sharp button that had dugged deep into his leg.

He moved his face from him as he went over to the disc that had guns around it, he knelt beside and switched off a button as the glocks fell off it and it reformed back to a portable size.

He took it up and dipped it into his breast pocket before then advancing to the leader who was still struggling to stand.

"It was designed to be sharper than the sharpest blade. By the looks, it must have dug deep into your tibia. That should explain why you find it difficult to stand."

The voice of the approaching man neared Li-Jie as he gasped out in fear. Looking to his side to see him already standing there.

"Who are you?" He groaned, "Do you know who you have angered by this act of yours?!"

The man didn't mind his words as he took up the briefcase from him and then after having it, he turned to him with a more serious look.

"Oh, I do. Which is why I'd like you to send a personal message to Jai-Lee Yang of the Triad for me," He smiled, "Tell him Scott Steel says hi."

His words seemed to have caused a stir in the face of the leader as even he had recognized the name. He gulped as he watched him walk away.
