Chapter 25 - Chapter 15

May was so tensed, she went back and forth the corridor of Heather's room with her eyes looking out for her. She had her fingers interlocked together covering her mouth as paced back and forth. She was walking forward then she paused when she got a glimpse of a figure coming her way, she could clearly see that the person was struggling to walk while, supporting itself with the wall. She focused on the figure till it came into the light and her eyes widened. 'H-Heather?' she screamed rushing to her.

Heather's vision was too blurry to see May running towards her but she could recognize her  voice 'M-May...?'  May ran and held her to prevent her from falling. Tears rolled down her cheeks as looked at Heather with eyes full of disbelief and her hands were trembling. She couldn't believe that, that was Heather, with blood dripping down her forehead, bruised lips, bruises here and there.  She had red swollen eyes and red nose. She was sweating profusely with dried tear marks on her cheeks and breathing heavily. 'They're monsters May..."sob" they're all monsters...' Heather mumbled with her voice breaking and tears rolling down her cheeks, as she buried her head in May's chest. May stood still for a moment lost in her disbelief before she broke down in tears, hugging Heather back more tightly. 'They're all monsters...'Heather mumbled continuously while May remained speechless. She couldn't imagine the torture Heather must have gone through. She had no words to express her grief...

May stood treating Heather wounds while Heather sat on the chair infront of the mirror staring at nothing. Their eyes and nose were red and swollen, though Heather's was worse. The room was filled with silence, only the items May used made a noise and their periodic sniffing was heard in the room. May tried her possible best to be gentle while treating her wounds, though Heather was numb to the whole thing.

May was done attending to Heather's wounds and she put the first aid kit away. 'Heather it's done' May said to her but Heather didn't respond. May sighed and brushed Heather's hair. She couldn't help her tears after seeing Heather lifeless state. She wiped her tears and exhaled before saying 'Heather listen to me, we leaving this place by sunrise okay?' she said with a big smile and Heather immediately turned to May. She was certainly shocked and confused about what May wad saying. 'Yes... we're leaving by sunrise' May repeated.

'What, what saying... please don't try to do anything, please don't-this people would-No...!' Heather strongly disagreed holding May's hands. 'Heather but-' 'No!!!' Heather shouted making May mute. 'Noo... don't, don't try anything. May listen to me please, don't try anything. I don't want them to hurt you too... don't do anything... they're monsters...' she said trembling. May hugged her and patted her back while she kept sobbing. 'Shhh... it's okay. Everything is fine' May said to console. Heather was obviously still shaken about what happened, so explaining things to her now would only cause her more trouble. May decided to drop the topic and put Heather to sleep. She had definitely been through enough for the day.

Light got into May's eyes and she wiggled around on the bed. 'Mhmm...why is it so bright?' she itched her eyes while yawning. 'Sorry Ma'am, I didn't mean to disturb you, did I ruin your sleep?' 'My sleep isn't ruined, it's gone' she snorted making the maid a little scared. 'S-sorry Ma'-' 'Just leave' May gritted out while tugging hair and the maid ran out. She sighed loudly, turned to the side and found Heather sleep deep in her sleep, then looked at the clock. '10am? Were we that tired? Hmmm... Heather? Wake up. It's morning and we have to leave' She whispered trying to overcome the sleep but Heather didn't move one bit. 'Come on Heather, let's get out of here, Heather...?'.

She had trouble getting Heather out of bed and even taking a shower. She had already showered and was dressed, she was drying her hair when Heather stepped out of the shower. 'Sorry I borrowed your clothes' May whispered with a mischievous smile. Heather only shook her head, walking into the closet and May chuckled.

Once Heather was done getting dressed, she sat on the bed staring at nothing. 'Hey, won't you do any makeup. Do you want to got out looking so pale. I mean, you are beautiful but at least wear a little lipgloss.' May said as she tried applying it for her but Heather stopped her. 'Let it be May, I don't want it' she murmured. 'But Heather-' 'Let it be please' Heather insisted and May sighed in defeat. 'Listen to what I saying Heather, I said this to you yesterday but you seemed traumatized by what happened so you couldn't understand, I told you that we'll leave this place today and we will.' May told her and Heather reacted the same. 'N-no you shouldn't do-' 'Listen Heather- okay fine. Get up and come with me' May said as she gestured Heather to come. 'What are you-' 'Come with me first' May said and held Heather, pulling her to come along with her.

'May where are we going, please don't do anything-' 'Just come along with me, nothing will happen' May said as she pulled her along though she resisted. May pulled her along right passed the guards straight for the entrance. No one said anything to them or spoke a word to them. Heather looked around nervously, she wondered why they weren't stopping them. 'Your keys Ma'am' one of the men offered to May making Heather more confused. May took the keys and the entrance door opened for them to pass. 'May listen to me-' 'keep quiet for a bit Heather, we are going to the garage to get a car' 'the garage?' May shook her head.

She took her to the garage, to a Rover. She unlocked the car and got in. Heather stood just watching her as she started the engine. 'Aren't you getting in?' May offered and Heather hesitantly got in. 'Listen May, I still think-' She stopped when May took off immediately. She looked at the gate like a hulk. She held unto the seat, breathing heavily. 'Just relax Heather, nothing will happen' May said with her eyes on the road. Heather couldn't believe that, what she went through last night kept flashing before her eyes. They got closer and closer and the gate automatically just like it did last night. Heather couldn't take it anymore, she shut her eyes expecting the severe pain any second from then.

'VROOOOOM!!' Heather heard and opened her eyes shocked. They were out of ARC, on the highway and nothing happened? Heather turned to May still in shock. May glance over at her with a smile. 'Told you nothing would happen' May shrugged and turned back to  the road. Heather was totally speechless, she couldn't understand anything. 'Don't worry, I'll explain everything when we get home' May answered her unasked question.

Digesting her freedom was so difficult, she couldn't still believe they were free from that hell but she also couldn't help but wonder. Was she really free?
