Heather was currently in class with her head down in her book, she was constantly tapping the page she was looking at, staring at nothing on particular. It had been four days now but she had not been able to stop thinking about that place, that hell. She got more and more anxious as the days passed by, the clock was ticking and she would soon be back in that hell. She was paying less attention to herself, she was clearly lossing weight and looking pale. May had been trying to get her mind off it but she hadn't been able to. She even had to sleep in with Heather because Heather had frequent nightmares about ARC. She was very time conscious of time and her anxious.
Gossip was going around about her, the beauty queen of the school was now looking like walking corpse. She was known for small talks but during that time she wasn't talking at all. She blocked herself out from everyone. Her phone beeped and she jolted back to reality, it was May's message saying to get ready to leave today. She stared at the words of the message for a while, trying to gasp the intensity of it. When the message sank in and she got enough courage, she left the class.
'I saw Abigail today, she was saying that she misses the girls night out we used to have. She suggested we have it this weekend but I-' May stopped what she was saying when she was Heather was absent minded. 'Heather? Heather?!' 'Huh?' 'Why did you space out like that? What are you thinking about?' 'May? Can't we just run away? We can just run away from here and no one would find us, there are so many options...' May watched Heather explaining her plans with so much hope in her eyes, this was the first time Heather's face was this bright since she came back.
May's eyes began to sting, watching her erupted so many emotions. She blinked multiple times to suck the tears in, she couldn't cry and be weak infront of Heather. '...and then we can-' 'Heather!' May beckoned snapping Heather out of her daydreaming. May slowly walked to her and placed her shivering hands on Heather's shoulders. 'Heather listen, we will just be there for three days okay? We just have to go there for-' 'No! We-we can escape, we don't have to go back there, We-we don't have to at all... right?' Heather asked May with even more hope that May couldn't contain her tears any longer, she broke down burying her head in Heather's chest. Her tears shattered all the hope Heather had, she also broke down, crying her eyes out.
They drive to ARC was yet again quiet, May had her eyes on the road while Heather looked out the window. They eventually arrived there after nearly three hours, they became alert as they approached it and the gates opened for them. They were back, back to that hell hole. Heather looked back and watched as the gates closed. She shut her eyes and inhaled, deeply. 'Just three days... we'll survive Heather' May mumbled without looking at her and Heather opened her eyes. 'We have to...' she mumbled back in response.
