Asta took no time to consider, spinning on her haunches and bolting backwards as she heard the two wolves barking and whining behind her.
[Why is she running? What happened?!]
Before anyone could do anything, the two parents dropped to their stomachs in submission in front of their leader.
[Asta! Come back! It's fine!]
Molaki spun around nearly as fast as his mate, but not fast enough. He didn't notice her becoming fearful, because he was preoccupied, and swelling with pride, seeing his citizens at peace and happy. He had taken his thoughts off of her for a split second, and missed her signals.
Asta loved Molaki dearly, needing him like air, but she didn't know his voice in his wolf. It was just another howl to her, and she was almost deep into the thick sticker bush brush when she heard him - actually him, his voice pleading to her through the frigid air.
