Chapter 36 - Pride

As I lie down on the bed I wait for a few minutes, and then a few more until Angelica walks inside the room looking somewhat annoyed.

"The princess(?) is looking for you in the training ground." I'm confused as to why she sounds confused about calling her a princess.

"Uh sure, thanks for telling me. I needed them to get in line sooner or later anyways." I then stand up and walk outside the door before going to the training room. This time though I decide to walk, I really don't want to get there faster.

When I finally get there I find a bunch of guys and a few girls all standing around in a circle. Aside from the school attire you could have fooled me if you told me it was a cult. As soon as my foot lands past the door they all twist their heads to look at me.

"You seem to be to arrogant, we will put you in your place." They start casting spells while a few draw their swords. I just decide to play into the arrogant facade and smirk.

"Let's be clear here, the only reason their isn't a body is because it would be bad if I killed someone day one. I'll only give you broken bones this time, but the next is a shattered spine." This seems to have pissed off a few of them and the sword wielders charge.

As the sword users charge the mages shoot a variety of spells at me. I just dodge 3 swings and jump on top of the last ones sword before kicking her in the face and doing a flip back onto the ground.

The mages had finished their spells by now and had shot a bunch of elemental blades at me, I just cast an equal amount of shadow blades pierce through their spells leaving a hole in the celling.

The last two close combat fighters had approached me and one swung sideways while another was behind me. I just bend my back enough to grab the others waist and pick the up and slam them into the last swordsman's head.

The mages at this point start casting a flurry of spells to hurl at me, from basic elemental balls and bolts to full on laser beams. I wait a few seconds before using my best move, waiting for the magic to approach me enough to give them false hope.

I let the magic hit some shadow hands and a bunch of smoke pops up and I can see the mages celebrating momentarily before they see my shadow encase the room. Some of them fall to their knees in despair while others keep trying and falling to cast magic.

I walk out of the smoke cloud and seeing not even a scratch on my clothes makes the ones clinging to any semblance of hope despair, some joining the dozen or so on their knees. Following through with my promise, I break an arm or leg for every one of them.

As I turn to walk away I decide to stop myself, finding that all these people are able to form coherent thought. I was kind of expecting a good few to have never felt pain before.

"You guys can keep playing king or whatever, but remember a king is nothing in front of a god." I cringe internally from saying this, but to spare myself from that I just teleport away keeping my arrogant smirk.

As I land back on my bed I close my eyes again and I just lie down. I'm not really feeling making new spells and I can't cultivate. While I lie there Angelica exits the washroom and lies down on the other bed.

After lying around for a few minutes Angelica had decided to save me from the boredom.

"What was your world like?"

"We have many countries all with different ideologies and people. People vote to see who gets power, though the country I'm from had the standpoint for the masses to live in ignorance and purchase their happiness with blood and sweat. It's actually quite bad how corrupt it is."

"What about your parents?"

"Just average people who want the best for their son. Kind people who wouldn't hesitate to help someone if they can. They have no idea I know magic and the fact that I'm on another planet. They think I'm simply on a business trip" Thinking back on it I miss them, I haven't seen them in person since I left for college.

As I'm thinking back to the time with my family I find Angelica had taken out a grimoire and it wasn't mine. It was a fancy looking one with golden embellishments on the red cover.

"Where did you get that grimoire?" She just looks back at me before smirking a bit.

"David Pendragon's spare. He was generous enough to give it to me." While he was a massive dick for trying to get me and Angelica to do some not so pg 13 things, he was really having it rough.

As a few more minutes pass I find that a notification had popped up.
