As I open my eyes I find myself in a shadow hand and the sun being almost directly above us. I then open my video log of the night to see what happened. I skip over the majority of moving and wait until she sets up a tent and puts me inside.
I speed it up until I get the to a part of the night when I can hear Angelica fighting something before killing it. Another minute or so passes and I then hear her muttering to herself.
"He gave me such a powerful technique, that must mean he trusts me. He trusts me!" I can then hear her giggling to herself before she quiets down and the rest of the night passes peacefully.
While she wasn't wrong that I trusted her, I was going to put some nanomachines on her to monitor her but because I rushed the code the video feed didn't work. I was basically going to keep her within earshot when we get to the city.
As she keeps going we finally arrive at the city gate and find a line and a bunch of guards letting people in while taking bribes. At this point I had teleported down from Angelica's arm and she had started walking alongside me normally.
As we wait in line our turn eventually comes and when I go to hand the man in white and blue some money he looks over to Angelica with eyes of a perv. I just release enough of my bloodlust to get the man to look away from her chest and he takes the money before we walk inside.
While I walk I can see paths on the ground and oddly enough floating paths that connect all around the city. There up high enough that you can't hear anything but it's just in sight for the average Joe. As we walk I can hear something coming down towards my head and I see a tomato flying towards me.
I take a dagger out from my storage ring before throwing it up and piercing the fruit and having it hit the glass and falling back down in my hands. It wasn't enough strength to shatter the glass but it was enough to make a loud enough sound so they would piss themselves.
As we walk Angelica starts a conversation while were deep in a crowd.
"Why did your eye start glowing?" I just look over to her.
"When?"
"The guard, your eye glowed blood red for a few seconds and all the kindness you had beforehand completely vanished." So that's what the hallucination means. No clue why it makes my eye glow, but it works I guess.
"Just works I guess." She looks at me funny but says nothing and we keep walking until we find ourselves in a higher class area. What I'm assuming are nobles are all walking towards a massive building on those higher pathways.
"I don't get the higher pathway thing. Why the hell do they do that?"
"To reinforce the belief that they are better than commoners" I snicker because that's some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
As we walk around I find that another fruit had been tossed at me by some random noble and I swear to god if another noble throws something at me there will be a body. I use my map feature to while walking around to figure out the general layout of town.
The outside of the city was less well off and the further you went in the better, though the average Joe only went to the "Middle Ring" because the nobles live and have their buildings in the high class area. This includes the palace and school of magic, and almost all the nobles and their high risen roads.
As I look around some more I can see a group of nobles approaching us, 3 men and 4 women. Knowing it probably isn't anything great I take my katana out from my storage and put in on my hip.
I look over to find Angelica had a dagger at her hip and she also probably had a spare inside her storage ring. As the nobles walk over they seem more friendly than usual, and I start thinking of things that could cause this.
I look over Angelica and myself and find that it could only be one thing, our getup must seem noble or they want a toy. I look over the 3D scan I have of the ring I have saved and find that the Angelica's is different from theirs.
As they get closer to Angelica and me we just stand there ready to strike. As they get closer they one of them starts to speak.
"Your the exchange students from the Empire of Nyx right? It's nice to meet you, I'm David Pendragon." He extends his hand out for a handshake and Angelica goes out to take and he accepts.
"Cecilia Gray and that's Barry Gray. He doesn't like to talk much." I'm just trusting her here because honestly I'm deadweight here. Kind of embarrassing to need someone to bluff for me but whatever.
Angelica and them start talking about god only knows what, I'm saving the information but it would be really bad if we didn't kill the actual transfer students in the forest. After another few minutes or so they finish and Angelica walks back.
"We have to use those names, they have something to check and don't worry about the actual transfers, you killed them."
"Did you watch me kill them or was it the storage ring?" She just shakes her head.
"I can see information of a person on a blue screen, including the people they've killed. Though most of your information comes out as question marks." We keep walking and after a minute or so I say my piece.
"I did what I had to do."
"I'm sure you did, you can tell me about it later though."
I'm being consoled by the emotionally unstable person. For some reason though I don't mind it.
