walking back to my room i was thinking about everything that happened till now seeing comma-no captain van was a big surprise i didn't think i would interact with character related to the plot this fast, Although i knew if i got out of this place at some ill be interacting with the rest of the characters of the novel i created, But i didn't think it would happen this fast, I dont even know if he was supposed to be here in the first place, Whether me being here created some kind of butterfly effect that changed the plot before it even start is unknown to me. When i got inside of my room i was surprised to see someone sitting on the bed I was more surprised when I realised its sam, Even though he always was the one to get me from the room to the laboratory and from there to my room again, He never once walked into my room, I think. sam turned his head to look at me I wasnt able to see his expression clearly so I didn't know how anxious he was until I heard his voice
"0..01, W..what are you doing here you still have about 4 hours left to finish your training"
"Captain van told me to go back after he tested me, I will be starting my official training tomorrow"
i replied, I heard him then release a sigh and then talk again
"I....I see, I was checking if everything in the room was working, the bathroom, The lights. Since you have 4 hours still before your other training starts you can take a restI will come back later"
Honestly, I heard what he said from one ear and threw it out of the other, This guy sounded anxious about something and I knew he was trying to get out of this awkward situation. Even his excuse was terrible, As long as iam concerned he is supposed to be doctors kane assistant or something, Why would he be fixing lights and checking the room in the first place. this guy is suspicious and the weirdest thing is how suspicious he is, I mean I was told he was here for the last 3 years and nobody saw him in the same light i did, I wanted to ask and know more but..
"okay, thank you, assistant sam"
I can't, what if this is just another test to see my reaction?, What if i asked him about something and he got suspicious of me?, Too many risks. he gave me a dry laugh and then said
"cmon 01 I told to just call me sam,okay?"
"yes....sam"
"Good, Okay I have to go now Ill see you in 4 hours"
just as he walked past me, without looking at him, I asked him
"sam..aren't the repatriations team present today?"
he stopped in his tracks and stayed silent for a couple of seconds but then turned his head and said with a cheerful tone
"Oh, About that ill, They are actually needed in another section so It would take a long time for them to finish, But don't worry about that when iam here hahaha,I gotta go now, Have a good rest"
Said sam as he waved his hands while walking away, I went inside my room through the door and checked the bed,Nothing and the bathroom, Nothing and then desk, Still nothing. I sat on my bed and started thinking about what just happened in my mind a new goal appeared
'I have to investigate this guy, He is too suspicious'
The way he acts, It doesn't look like he is one of them
/pov: sam
'Fuck..fuck...fuck'
Walking away from 01's room i thought to myself
'That was close, I should be more careful later, But its ok, At least i got those'
Taking a black box out of my pocket, I made sure to look around me for any signs of anyone coming my way, I pressed the small button that was on the small black box, A hologram came out of the box, It was showing 01's room, The room i was just in
'Now i have to send those with the rest of pictures to the association'
Honestly, This wasn't even what i was supposed to do, But when i reported the events of the last six months my supervisor suddenly got flustered and gave a bunch of tasks and then wait for instructions
'Come on Michael you can do this, Just another 2 years and your done, Just...2 years'
releasing a sigh, I put the box back in my pocket and started walking toward my residence. Of course 01 seeing me is a little troublesome, but its probably nothing even if he is....whatever they made him, His thought process is still that of a kid. at that time I didn't how wrong I was for having such thoughts
/3rd pov
Meanwhile all of this was happening a meeting was commencing in the Upper levels of the lab facilities. Inside a dark lit room 5 seats were appointed in a semi-circle position with a conected table infront of each seat, 2 out of the 5 seats were occupied with one big figure and another small one in the other seat, Infront of them, a man with a white coat on was standing, then a heavy deep voice came out one of the occupied seats
"so doctor kane, To what would do we owe the pleasure of your visit?"
"I came here today to give my report about the perfect soldier progect"
"Hmm...I see then..."
Before the the man was able to continue a soft voice came from the other seat next to him
"Yeah that peice of a garbage of a project you keep talking about...I bet you still haven't passed the first stages, hahaha"
If doctor didn't know better he would've lashed out on the "woman" who was talking to him, instantly he swallowed all the curses and beautiful words that was about to come out of his mouth, Then a smirk formed on his face when he said
"Actually we already passed the first stages, 01 is a promising subject, He was supposed to finish the first stages after a year or a year and half but his willpower proved our speculations wrong,I guess even yours miss eve"
miss eve stopped laughing and a frown the doctor couldn't see due to the lightning of the room was on her face
"what do you mean "willpower" didnt you erase his memories"
It was the "man" on the other seat that spoke this time
"Of course we did, But according to the psychological examination, He showed a great will in living, Its actually not that weird mostly all of us has this instinct to survive, His is just strong enough to push him forward, mr loki.
Replied the doctor with the same proud smile on his face, In fact if it wasn't for mr.loki being next to her, miss eve would've separated the doctor's head from his body already looking at him smiling only made her anger raise higher. ignoring the pressure that was coming from beside him, mr.loki spoke again
"Iam glad the project is moving toward success i dont want to see the sacrifice made toward this project be all for naught. Anyway id really like if you made a time for him to visit us. id like to check this 01 myself if thats possible"
without a change in his facial expression replied the doctor
"Of course I will bring him for you to see him during the next report"
after finishing his report doctor kane walked out of the dark room, after he left the lights shining on the seats dissappeared and with it the 2 figures, leaving only silence and darkness in its place.
