Dallas did as Bree had asked, showing her all of the different flowers that he had put into her bouquet, explaining the names and purposes of the ones that Bree didn’t know.
They walked around the garden for quite some time, enjoying the sunlight and each other’s company as they did so. The air was warm and sweet, and Dallas’ arm was strong and comforting.
Bree was happy, walking amongst the flowers and other plants, breathing in the fresh air after so many days indoors.
“I didn’t know you had a garden,” she mumbled, still amazed at all of the new things she had discovered today.
“My mother insisted on having one,” Dallas explained. “She said that it would be a good thing for the people of Lycantor to be able to visit. It’s also valuable for all of the medicinal herbs we grow here. We’re able to tend to them better than the healers, since they have so much other work to do. Here, we hire gardeners, who are able to focus on the garden alone.”
