"Hi, good morning," Adenos said. I opened my eyes, feeling every muscle in my body aching. My mouth felt dry, but I managed to say 'Good morning.'
'I brought something for you to eat.'
'Thanks,' I muttered, my mouth murmuring. Then I got up and walked as far as my chains would allow me to. I accepted the plate he had presented. He had brought bread and cheese with him. However, it appeared to me to be an excellent breakfast plate. I simply sat down and began eating.
Adenos was still there and waiting.
'Why do you wait?' I asked.
'I brought the breakfast by myself just to have a chance to talk with you. Will you not talk with me?' he inquired.
'What exactly do you want me to say? I can't add anything to what I said yesterday.'
'Actually, Adrian, I'd like to know who you are.' Alpha Aida suspects you of concealing something. Who are you? She won't stop until she has an answer to this inquiry. When necessary, she may be brutal. I don't want you to go through this for no reason. Think carefully and give her the answers she wants as soon as possible. Otherwise, she will hurt you until she gets the answers.'
'You're trying to scare me but I must say you failed. Let me repeat, I'm a member of the Blue Moon Pack.'
'I'm sorry, but I'm not going to think you're only a member. Your wolf is stunning, with jet black fur and the stature of an Alpha.' he voiced his opinion.
'Demus, I need your help. Where are you?'
'I'm here and I heard what he said. I guess there's no way we can hide the fact that you're an Alpha now. Even though you don't have an aura, anyone who sees me will suspect you're an Alpha.' he said proudly.
Voices from upstairs interrupted our conversation as Adenos pressed me with his questions.
'No, I would never permit that!' a female voice said
"Whether you like it or not, I'm going to get rid of him," said a man.
It didn't take long for me to figure out who was arguing. Aida was the one who said she wouldn't let go, and the man who was planning to eliminate someone was much older than Aida.
'Grandpa, please stay where you are! I don't want to hurt you," Aida said.
They were both tense. They both paused as they approached the door to my cell. The grandfather was holding a silver knife in his hand and looking at me with hatred. Aida, on the other hand, reached for his arm, attempting to stop him.
"Come back!" exclaimed Demus. The old wolf had returned. I just walked away from them.
"Aida, release my arm!" This traitor must die, and that is exactly what I intend to do.' In a rage, the grandfather said.
"Grandpa, if you don't get out of the front of that cell, I'll unleash my Alpha aura on you."
'Do not make me do things I will later regret.'
'Are you going to upset your grandfather, me, for this jerk?' You don't understand, Aida; it's bad enough that he's in our territory at all. He has the ability to infect the entire pack with the evil within. Let me do everyone a favor and murder him.'
'Can't you see that I'm not going to let this happen? Furthermore, I do not want to discuss this matter with you in front of him. Let's calm down, Grandpa, and talk about it in my office. What do you think? Please...!'
Grandpa looked into my eyes first, and I challenged him by looking into his eyes without fear. I could swear I saw doubt, fear, and hatred in those eyes. I could see him fighting with himself. After a while did grandpa lower the knife in his hand, rolled his eyes at his granddaughter, and said,
'Okay, let's go!', in a defeated tone.
Aida hugged the old man and made her way to the stairs, speaking in a low, soft voice that I couldn't understand. I was relieved to see the old man walking alongside her, shoulders slumped and admitting defeat.
