Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12

Ryan arrived at child services, using position, money and power, he was able to get back the child only after signing an adoption letter for David. David was the legal name given to Haera's baby.

Accepting to adopt the baby, he went to the hospital with David. Luckily, Haera was already awake by the time he got to her ward.

She was full with excitement to see her son once again. Ryan handed him over to her but didn't tell him about the adoption. He would tell her when she was fine mentally and physically.

After three days, she got discharged and went back home. Ryan bought her packaged food from a restaurant on their way back home as it was already late.

Ryan dropped her home and spent some minutes with her after which he left for his house. He enjoyed her company but had to go back home and settle some scores concerning personal work.

He got out of his car and headed inside. By the time he got back, everyone was in their rooms doing one of two things. Only his sister was in the parlour watching a movie.

"Welcome, how was your day?" She greeted him.

"Went well...just stressed up." He replied her as he rubbed the back of his neck, followed by series of yawns.

"Hahahaha....that yawn is for what? Hunger or tiredness or sleep?" Tanya, his sister asked.

"Both." He replied.

Yawning again, he asked her another question after she eas done laughing at him while holding the television remote.

"Where's everyone?" He asked her.

"Some went to bed, some are doing other personal stuffs and so on." She replied as she turned to the television she was watching.

"What about you?" He asked her, teasingly.

"I'm watching my favourite show." She replied as all her mind and attention was channeled to the programme she was watching.

"I'm heading for my room. Good night." He replied her.

"Goodnight? It's too early for that. We haven't even had dinner yet." Tanya replied him.

"I'm just tired...I'll catch some sleep and join you at the dining much later." He replied her as he patted her on her head.

"Stop that...I'm not your kid sister!" She quarreled him as he mimicked after her, both of them laughing while he left.

"Don't over sleep oh... otherwise you'll miss dinner and I'm not taking anything to your room." Tanya screamed after him.

"Heard you. You can as well he a good sister and call me down for dinner." He answered her back.

"I know what's wrong with you, it's single sickness. Go and marry and your wife will take care of you just as I do take care of my husband." Tanya mocked him.

"Oh, so you think it's because you're married that you're telling me this right? I'll bring a girl home soon for you especially to see. You'll know I'm not a single man anymore." Ryan replied casually.

"Hahahahaha....don't make me laugh please. You that everyone knows that you can't even ask a girl out. Have you ever even dated a girl? Get out please." Tanya laughed at him, mocking and teasing him at the same time.

Ryan came back to the living room where she sat as he was almost at the stairs.

"I'll bring home a girl soon, just watch and see." He replied her, not wanting to feel defeated.

"I'll be waiting then Mr. Single." Tanya nicknamed him.

"Don't call me that!" Ryan scoffed.

"Mr. Single. I've called you that, what can you do?" She mocked him.

He looked around then picked up a pillow from the sofa and hit her head with it.

"Ouch....I'll revenge!" She yelled as she held her head, dropping the remote control and picking up another pillow, throwing it at him.

Pillows went flying in the living room as they threw it at each other.

"Mr. Single, go and marry!" She continued mocking and teasing him.

"I'm handsome and wealthy, I can have any girl I want but I've not found the one perfect for me yet. That's why I'm still single okay Mrs. Double eyes!" He explained mockingly as he picked at her medicate eye glasses on her face.

"How dare you call me that!" She yelled at him, throwing another pillow as she gasped for air, feeling exhausted.

"Call me Mr. Single again and I'll call you Mrs. four eyes. Do you want to try me?" He asked her, seeing hat she had given up, he pushed her head and went to his room.

"This isn't over yet! I'll get you some other time." She screamed at him, rearranging her scattered hair and getting hold of the remote.

"Come if you can...arrange those pillows." He screamed back at her, making for the last step on the stairs.

She picked up the pillows and kept them back where they supposed to be when she saw the file that he came back with, lying on the sofa.

"Hey! You forgot your documents!" She yelled at him but he was gone already.

She got up to take it to him. It was a brown folder with some papers in it. On the folder, it had a name on it "Adoption documents."

"Hmm...I wonder what this is. Possibly it's just his work stuffs." She said to herself when another thought ran through her mind.

"Could it be something related to the work of the nee position at the office?" She asked herself

"Come on Tanya, you will never know unless you take a look." She replied herself as she opened it and took out some papers and went through the first page.

"ADOPTION LETTER" was boldy written on it as the heading.

"What's this all about?" She thought within her as she flipped to another page and read aloud.

"REFERENCE LETTER FOR ADOPTION FOR PARENTS WHO ARE WILLING TO ADOPT A CHILD"

"What? What child and what's these all about?" She asked herself aloud, trying to figure out what the letter was all about.

Meanwhile, Ryan had removed his jacket and pulled off his stockings when he got a call from the child services.

They told him that they had credited his account with some amount of money for child care and services.

He told them not to send any money as he wanted to raise the child as his but they insisted, not wanting the child to go hungry or suffer as it was a compulsory practice tat was being done and he had signed it up already.

As agreed, he hunged the call and wanted to go through the letter because he didn't read that part as he was in a hurry to get the child back to its mother.

He searched for the letter but couldn't find it. He could remember putting the papers together after signing at the child services and adoption center.

He tried to remember where he had dropped it and figured out that he must have left it in the living room. He rushed out of the room to get it before someone else saw it especially since his sister was there.

On getting down, he saw his sister at the stairs going through some papers. He looked over and glanced at the living room but didn't see any file when his mind told him it must be the one with her.

He peeped at it from where he stood and saw "adoption and David" written on it. He rushed over and snatched them from Tanya's hands.

"Those are mine." He replied as he grasped them from her hands.

"Ryan, what are they all about? Adoption? Did you adopt a child?" She asked him.

"It's none of your business so stay out of it and besides, it's not mine if you must know." He replied to her in a ride manner as he headed back up the stairs to avoid any more questions from his sister.

She was an inquisitive fellow and won't stop at any length in digging out informations.

"It's not yours but the child is bearing your name?" She asked him.

On hearing that, he stopped in his tracks just as he was about to take another step on the stairs.

"I'm asking you? Who is David and under new adoption name, David Aryan Tahir Singh?" She confronted him as she snatched the page from his hand, waving the page at his face.

"Give me that! Stay out of my business!" He replied, snatching it back and turning his back at her.

"Really? You won't marry and that's why you're now adopting kids? Is that your intentions Ryan?" She accused him.

"Just stay clearly out of my way okay? Think whatever you want to! I don't know how many times you want me to tell you about this!" He replied.

"You'll know how many times you'll have me to know when dad and mum hears about this!" She threatened.

"What will dad and mum hear about?" His mother came out of her room from the other stairs that led to his parents room.
