The further we walked, the more concerned I became for Carlos. I really hope he's ok, I knew I definitely couldn't trust this guy. Who am I to say he's telling the truth? Carlos could be lying in a puddle of blood back there, and it would be all my fault. I wanted to mind link him but I knew Kayden was watching me. He would tell the Alpha that I'm mind linking someone.
I wanted to cry. The reality of the situation was suddenly sinking in, I was being taken away from my family, the ones I loved the most, and the hurt in Carlos' words when I told him to turn back. What if I never see him again? Silent tears fell from my face, I was being carried away by a stranger, my mate. He was a monster. I doubt he would ever let me see all my friends again. I doubt he would even let me leave whatever room he might throw me in.
"What are you thinking so hard about? And why are you crying?"
Are you serious right now? Let this be some horrible dream that I would soon awake from, this man isn't real. I'll be enjoying movies with Carlos and Miriam, at the carnival having a laugh with my Dad and the Alpha.
"I'm crying because I'm being hauled away from my friends and family, you threatened to kill my best friend, and you didn't even ask me if I wanted to go through with this."
"Do you want to go through with this?"
"Absolutely not"
"That's why I didn't ask."
"Well maybe if you asked me before, or if you got to know me better, had a conversation with me? But no, you picked me up and ran away."
He was silent for a little bit, and I had to say, I was relieved, the silence calmed me. I just wanted to forget about this and go home.
"I have my reasons mate, you have to understand that not everyone works the same way, we are made for each other, and you will learn to agree with my terms."
"So your terms are threatening to kill my best friend?!"
"Oh my fucking god would you shut up about him! I would never actually hurt him, I just needed you to believe I would. The fact you think that hurts me."
He was hurt? This man was incredulous! I just hope Carlos hasn't told anyone, if they all come running, they could get themselves killed.
"I hope it makes you feel better to know that it works, I'm certainly afraid of you now."
He stopped and his whole body stiffened.
"You're afraid of me?"
Dude.
"What did you expect? You didn't even give me a chance to choose if I wanted this and you threatened-"
"I GET IT! I THREATENED YOUR FUCKING FRIEND! WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP ABOUT IT? I already feel bad enough about what I did, but I just needed you to call it off."
His voice became very quiet in the last part. I was going to say something snappy but decided against it. He seems to have his reasons, but that doesn't excuse him in the slightest.
He began to sprint and his grip on me tightened. I looked up at him and saw his eyes glaze over. He was mind linking someone. I kept going over what he just said to me, the words repeating in my head. I already feel bad enough about what I did? That wasn't in any way an acceptable excuse.
The rest of the way was silent, I could feel anger radiating off of him like heat. I was sure I was going to get the scolding when we got to wherever he was taking me. I didn't feel bad about what I said at all though, he deserved it. I think.
He came up to a very large house and he slowed down a bit when he reached the gates. The Guards took one look at him and nodded whilst they opened the gates. He walked past them, not sparing a single glance. They looked at me pitifully, they knew he was mad about something. I'm in so much shit.
He continued for another 10 minutes before we came up to a large mansion. It was honestly breathtaking, much larger than the one in my pack. It had a large garden area which brightened my mood slightly. I've always loved gardening.
He walked into the mansion and spoke to some people in a language unknown to me, it sounded Russian maybe? Towards the end his voice became louder, angry almost.
"Derzhite yeye v komnate, yesli uvidish', chto ona ukhodit, nemedlenno soobshchi mne."
"Yes Alpha"
He turned, went up three flights of stairs and pulled out a keycard, unlocking a door. He quickly walked towards the end of the hall and threw open large oak double doors and tossed me on the bed.
"Osta Vysya zdes'"
"I'm sorry I don't speak that language."
He shook his head and took a deep breath, I could see he was getting frustrated, I could use this to my advantage.
"Stay here."
"Beg your pardon?"
He looked at me and spoke louder, exaggerating each word
"Stay. Here."
"What"
I tried my best to put on the most innocent face, I wondered if he would yell at me. I watched as his eyes darkened into pine green, the lush valleys disappearing.
"STAY HERE" He boomed
Instead of jumping back I smiled up at him with bright eyes. I was having quite a lot of fun with him.
"Ok, where are you going? When can I go home?"
He looked taken aback by the last question. I felt my stomach drop and my smile fade away.
"I am going home, right?"
"We'll discuss this later, just stay here, also, where I'm going isn't important to you."
He turned on his heel and walked back through the double doors. I heard him speaking to some people, this time in English. I could only just hear them.
"Stay outside her room, she doesn't leave pack grounds, but give her some freedom, if she wishes to go anywhere, go with her, I'll be back soon."
At least I didn't have to stay in this room, I honestly didn't mind though, it smelt a lot like him, I could drown it. What? No this isn't the time to think these thoughts, I need a mate, It's already been proven to me that they are too much trouble.
I heard him leave and make his way down the stairs. As soon as he was out of earshot, I pushed the double doors open and stood in the middle between the guards.
"Is there something you need, Luna?"
Ew.
"Please, I would appreciate just being called Charlotte."
"Of course."
"And yes, can I go to the garden area?"
They looked at each other confused.
"Why do you request to go there, it is rather dull?"
Great, even more of a reason to go there, I can plant flowers!
"That's perfect, I love gardening!"
I instantly regretted how childish I sounded, they couldn't help but smile.
"Sure."
They began to walk off and I followed. I took this time to admire the mansion, it was admittedly beautiful, the walls were a beautiful mix between oak and ebony wood, giving it a mediaeval look. Everything was dusted and cleaned to perfection, decorative flowers lining the walls. I could see some people straightening up or standing to attention, they must be the omegas.
We continued to walk until we were outside, the landscape was beautiful, we were deep within the forest in a small little clearing. Giving privacy.
"The garden is just around the corner."
It wasn't very pretty, it was overgrown and disgusting, it looked about as wild as the Alpha did. Haha.
"Oh dear."
"Yes, it is rather unfortunate, such a large area wasted, sitting here becoming more and more untamed. What a mess"
