Reed and Avery find Becky and Anton to be lifeless. Simultaneously, Marina found herself suspended 20 feet in the air, engulfed by black smoke that penetrated her mouth, nose, and ears. Avery and Reed turned their attention to the man who stood in front of the yard. He was trying to break the shield that Reed had made. The shield has cracks, and he must act to prevent its destruction.
"Alex…"
Reed looked at Avery, then at Devin and Alex, Eve's enemies at the time. But Reed's eyes grew big when he saw a woman lying on the floor.
He replied, "E-Emy. My queen."
Reed couldn't say what he was thinking or feeling at that moment. When he saw what happened to Emy, he felt sad. He had just disappeared from Avery's side, and the girl only saw him next to Emy.
