Chapter 29: How I met my wife3
16th century
Eileen's eyes flew open instantly, scattering the tranquility in an instant as adrenaline coursed through her veins, jolting her back to the real world.
At first the image was blurry as her eyes adjusted to the light. The shadow towed over her. It blocked the sunlight from her face. And Eileen took an extra second to make out the features. She knew he was the king's knight.
"Your majesty, I didn't mean to startle you" Fredrick offered his hand to her but Eileen hesitated. She didn't want to be pulled up yet.
Fredrick had a look on his face. A demeanor that showed a little wicked smile that looked like a smirk. It almost made him creepy.
"What are you doing here, Sir Fredrick?" Eileen asked him and took back her hand. She tucked both hands safely inside her gloves.
Fredrick didn't fail to notice her gesture yet his smile never wavered too.
