The laugh started very low and then it increased. At first, Ethan thought she was crying but he realized too late that she was just trying to suppress a laugh.
"You know the answer to your question don't you?" He asked somewhat relieved.
"I am not stupid, Ethan. This is the 21st century, I am sure in this reality that my parents died a while ago but you should have seen your face, brother. Ha-ha priceless" Defiance laughed freely.
Ethan exhaled. "It's not funny. I was already beginning to look for alternative words for death to use. It's not funny, Diddy"
Defiance wanted to say something when Lucy opened the door.
"It's time. Your father and I are waiting for both of you downstairs. Hurry!"
Defiance took the jacket Ethan gave her and they walked out together.
They made it to the living room and walked past their parents into the hallway.
