Chapter 172: The reason why
Elliott wiped Defiance's face with a wet linen as he made sure she was comfortable on the pile of leaves he gathered. She was still unconscious but the good news was most of the bleeding had stopped.
He thought she would heal fast but such wasn't the case.
He exhaled and stared at her, hoping to feel something but nada. His heart was empty and his thoughts confusing.
What was he even doing here?
He was supposed to stay away…he was supposed to obey orders but hearing her scream for help, something inside him was awakened and next thing he knew he was murdering a bunch of daywalkers to save her.
He should just leave. He should just get up and run but no matter how long he urged himself to go, he just couldn't.
So, he settled for staring at her and wiping her face….this girl he loved more than life itself.
