Chapter 1 - One

The Wi-Fi was super weak which had made the online class a big trouble. The teacher was trying hard to teach but his voice couldn't be heard. The students were insisting on cancelling the class but he didn't want to. He couldn't cancel the class on his own. The students were harsh on him; it wasn't his fault but they all put the blame on him. He was trying his best, however the students were cruel. He was about to burst into tears. The principle had forced him to hold every class online, and the students were acting rebelliously. He was getting attacked from both sides. He wanted to cry, but he had no one to rely on. Not even his colleagues were on his side. It was a fierce battle, to see who could get the full-time. No friend, no colleague, no one was there.

As he was teaching, he saw a message in the chat box.

"If you can't teach with a computer why don't you just leave already. Loser get out"

He knew he was a loser but hearing it from a student was too much to handle. All of a sudden, he stopped teaching and told his students to leave. What was the use of continuing when he couldn't teach anything? His voice never got to be heard, not in his classroom and not in the society.

His name was Nodin Rivera, a 24 years old man trying to fit into the world. He wasn't from a wealthy family, but he never gave up and worked hard to become a teacher. He was a mathematics teacher. It was his first time teaching since others had used relations to steal his position, despite all the hardships, he was able to work part-time in a school, he was good at teaching and knew what he was saying but he wasn't ready for teaching via computers.

Considering his financial problems, he didn't have a computer to work with and improve his skills. The pandemic didn't let him teach in real classrooms, so he had to go through the unknown world of online classes. He couldn't afford to buy one, another problem raised its flag. He attended many part-time jobs, washing dishes at a restaurant, washing clothes for people, washing cars at a carwash, moving heavy objects. He did everything he could to gather enough money, and then, bought a low level computer and started to learn using it. He worked his best, but no one saw it.

The students didn't want him and didn't believe him. He was a joke to them. Even to the principle he was a joke. He was hanging in there but then war broke out. Even though he wasn't in the war zone but things had changed a bit. Influenced by the side effects of the war, the place he had resided in was poor in sources. A source which he needed the most was the internet. The only way to teach and earn money. He contacted the principle and asked for his help but as selfish as he was, he ignored him and pressured him more and more.

That day was his last day of his struggling. Something he thought but his struggles never came to an end. He couldn't teach properly and the principle was about to fire him. When he saw the message, he couldn't bear anymore.

He called the principle and told him he wanted to resign and he approved of his resignation gladly.

Nodin put down his phone and sat on his chair sighing. He lost the job he wanted so much.

"What am I supposed to do?"

He thought.

"I have to find a job, soon."

It was only 9 in the morning and he had gone through a lot already.

His eyes level had risen crazily, which had made him an extra expense.

"What did it cost me? Did I get anything? Not even a thank you"

He looked outside the window. He saw something black flying emitting horrible sounds. He came outside to see what it was. A lot of people came outside to see what was happening.

It was a rocket which landed, hopefully far enough not to destroy his house. The moment it hit the ground, everything started to shake. Children started to scream. Even elders started to panic. Some houses were destroyed by the explosion wave and were torn down. Nodin brought his first aid kit and headed towards the area which was targeted. He didn't have a car to use and all he had was his feet that could help him help others.

He was running, hoping to find no one hurt. He knew it was too much to ask the Lord, but it was the only thing he could do. As he got nearer, the buildings were more destroyed and they were all decorated with the blood of the innocent. He tried to put the ruins aside and go inside to help. But all he could see was a bath of blood with flesh swimming in.

He wanted to throw up, he wasn't a brave person and he didn't have enough courage to look at such scenes but he had to do so, because he was a human.

He went outside to help others. The sick people had died from heart attacks and panics. Many who weren't sick had died, many were crushed, many were dead because of others hitting them while escaping. Children were everywhere, dead, crushed to the grounds, disabled. Mothers were holding onto them and crying. Mothers clinging to their dead children, crying, praying to have them back, but the dead couldn't come back to life. Even Nodin couldn't be of help to them, he was a teacher not a doctor. He was a teacher not a magician. He was a teacher not a deity. He knew it but he didn't expect to be that useless.

Children crying, screaming, running. As a teacher, he didn't want to see them like that. The angels he wanted to teach and make them ready to set their feet in the society were crashed to death.

He tried to help as much as he could. War needed more help and help wasn't on its way.

"If only someone came to help...."
