Soon after the explosion, enemy's forces barged in their town. Bullets were flying in the air, attacking innocent people. Nodin was doing all he could to help but as soon as enemy came, he had to escape. He tried to get many people out of their houses, however he couldn't save them all.
He was carrying an old man who had lost his right foot to escape, then he realized a kid was sitting in front of the tank which was coming to destroy whatever which was in its way. The kid was too shocked to move, as she was holding onto her teddy bear drenched in blood, the tank came nearer and nearer.
Nodin tried to put the man down and told him to wait. He couldn't leave the kid alone, he had to save her, she had a lot to do in the world, she wasn't ready to die in such young age. He ran toward the kid and took her to the other side.
He was just in time to take the kid, but he sprained his ankle.
"Useless"
He thought. The old man was on the other side of the road waiting for Nodin to come. He couldn't move and enemy was coming.
The kid in his arm felt like a dead body, so cold as ice and she did not move. He had to get up and save him, but the enemy brought another tank and it blocked the way. He couldn't put the kid down; the same thing could have happened to her. As he was holding the scared little girl, he tried to find a way to get back to the old man.
He was waiting for someone to save him; he had hope in Nodin's return.
"Hope"
Something sweet like candies but this sweet little idea would bring the hell in front of your eyes, only because you had a little hope, you'd become demoralized. You hate the world for just being there. It all happens because a little trace of hope appears in your mind. Hope is dangerous. We know but we don't care about the consequences and believe in it. We strongly believe that happily ever after will be the end of our lives. But it's enough. We have to stop dreaming and face the real world. The world which we all live in, has no hope in, has no future. We have to stop. We have to stop but we just don't.
The enemy forces were covering the path. He thought if he made a sound, he could make his way clear. Because he had hope.
The moment he threw the stone, he was high on a drug named hope, but it all appeared as the ascending of the demon King. The soldiers noticed the sound and searched the area, exactly near where the old man was. They found him. Nodin couldn't see him but he could hear his cries, he could hear him shouting for help. If he went out the child would have been in danger.
"The child or the man."
It's disgusting to choose whom to save when everyone has a right to live. When everyone was living their own lives, they didn't hurt anyone, they didn't kill anyone, they didn't deserve such behavior from other nations. No! It wasn't the nation, it was their government who thought the world was theirs and they were the better kind. Just Why do the people suffer for the greediness of the rulers? Why? Isn't there any person available to answer us?
Nodin couldn't decide what to do. He could never choose which life was more precious when every life was precious. As he stood there wavering what to do, a loud sound of bullet being shot was heard. As he was holding the kid, his face got paler and paler, layers of tears covered his eyeballs and his vision got blurred. His throat was throbbing, but he did not dare to let his voice out or they would have been in danger. His lips wanted to be opened and cry, he held his mouth with his hand and went away with an ankle which needed treatment.
He passed through ruins and found a place where no soldier was there. It was used to be a house to people who had just died, however no sign of life could be seen. It seemed as if the house was abandoned for a very long time. The walls were destroyed and there was barely a roof over their heads. On one of the remaining walls, a family picture was hung on. There used to be a family maybe about two or three hours ago, but there was no one alive there anymore. He put the child down and tried to find something for her to eat and drink. The kitchen was completely wiped out, the food was spread on the ground and clean water wasn't available. He managed to find a piece of cloth. He went back to the kid and covered her with the cloth.
"Stay here, I'm going to search our surroundings to find something, don't move. Stay here."
The kid did not respond. As if she couldn't sense anything anymore. Here lifeless eyes were just looking at the ground, she didn't seem to be able to move. He didn't want to leave the child alone but it was for the sake of the child.
His ankle hurt a lot but he had to endure. He came out of the destroyed house. Looking around to find the right time to come out and search for supplies, he wandered door to door, better to say, ruined house to ruined house he wandered. The streets were decorated with blood and corpses. As he was moving around, he got reminded of how life was used to be there, just a while ago. Even if they did not have a wealthy life but they gathered together and sang songs while children would dance and play. Grandmas and Grandpas used to tell the folktales to the new generation to keep their history and their ancestors alive, and the children would listen to them, even if they had no food to eat, even if the taxes got so high and they weren't able to buy their beloved stuffs, they weren't able to buy dolls, toys, new clothes for their children, they managed to survive and keep their smiles on their faces and their laughter would heal anything that was taken from them. But, what could heal the dead hearts, the dead minds? What could bring back the dead to life? What could help that mother who lost her child, her soul, her everything, what could possibly help her to smile one more time? What could bring back the laughter that used to fill the air?
Nodin did not have a family, since he lost his at a young age. However, when he got some free time, he used to visit the people there, teach the kids their school lessons that they had problems with, he even sat together alongside them for the festivals and celebrations they used to hold. He found his family in a town which got ruined and destroyed. His family was dead, was gone, was crushed to death, was beaten to death, was shot to death. Everything was gone in a blink of an eye.
He wished that he had some super powers to turn time back and freeze it at the moment when people were happy and alive, when children would play cheerfully. He wished that he had some powers to stop the soldiers from attacking them, a power to stop rulers from getting greedy and wishing for a fight. He wanted a lot, but none of them could help the situation to get well because reality doesn't have magic, reality doesn't have kindness, reality doesn't have mercy. A world where they thought they could live happily together with all the misfortunes they encountered, ceased to be. The kind world they had was gone.
Isn't it funny how a word made of only three letters, bring such disasters to everyone? Many believe that soldiers kill without hesitation, it is true, it is true that they kill and it is true that many defend and they end up killing a ton of people, but war destroys their souls. They thought they were fighting for their country, they thought they could save, but once they got their hands dirty with the blood of people, they died inside. Dead people invades another territory of dead people.
Ha! What a joke! And it's unbelievably happening and no one is stopping this humiliating play. If only a person could stand up and fight with bravery until this unholy word of three disappears.
-War not wanted
-Whoever finds it, kill it on spot.
-Bounty: History will never forget you, you'll be the reason for the smiles of so many.
"War at the best, is terrible, and this war of ours, in its magnitude and in its duration, is one of the most terrible."
-Abraham Lincoln.
