Chapter Five (5). Predicament.
[...I see that there's nothing else. Then, goodbye.] The system voiced as it vanished from Reo's mind.
...
"Reo-kun~"
Emelia hugged Reo as they exited the restaurant together.
"What do you think should I do with their bodies, hmm~?"
"It'd be a wiser choice to go to the forest and bury them—"
"Ah, so you want to make this nun rest in peace?" Emelia glared at Reo and her mood fluctuated again.
"—But, I know you'll never accept nor allow me to do that, so I have to make a quicker choice of dumping these to a nearby bin." Reo hurriedly continued.
"Good decision!" Emelia applauded.
Sensing his wife has finally calmed down, Reo dragged the bodies outside using a trash bag he emptied out.
Emelia watched him in silence, but she occasionally clapped her hands when Reo kicked the nun's lifeless body inside without touching it with his bare hands.
Swiftly placing the bodies into the trash bag and positioning them in a weird, inhuman position lest that people might suspect something.
Reo did not complain as his hands were dirtied by the residue of blood and dirt. This was almost in his every day life back in Demi, further explanation is unnecessary.
The foul stench of blood pigmented the air as he strolled towards a nearby garbage can and placed the bodies inside, in result, the fishy iron smell was hidden by the disgusting stench from the molded food and decomposing materials.
Reo sighed once more as he closed the restaurant and regretted for the unfortunate result the three people have received.
Emelia noticed how he looked and was upset, "Don't hate me, Reo-kun." She muttered, knowing clearly how unhappy her husband was with the killing she had done.
Reo heard her whisper and turned to face his wife. "I don't hate you, Emelia. However, you still couldn't control yourself even now?"
"That's my mistake, but I can't leave out any witnesses. Didn't you remind me to clean up evidence after I commit such an act? It's outrageous of me if I do not comply to that reminder of yours you gave me in the past!" Emelia reasoned and puffed her cheeks. That was common sense, isn't it?
Reo remembered his words and scratched his neck pitifully.
After sighing a bit, he went and took Emelia's hand into his and the two walked out of the alley.
The sky had turned dark purple and it was pass seven in the evening, Reo glanced at the pine tree tower filled with ornaments of gold and pulled Emelia to go near it.
Emelia was confused, "What is this, Reo-kun?"
She had never seen such a thing before.
Reo expected his wife's question, "A Christmas tree." He subtly answered before dragging her towards the nearby store to get some food.
"Oh~," Emelia hummed and followed him obediently, they entered the store and was met with shelves filled with items and a few passing costumers.
Emelia was reminded of a similar place.
The market.
Likewise, she must agree that despite the resemblance, there was still a difference.
Emelia saw Reo buy a bottle of water and a few candies.
"Is there anything that catches your eyes, Emelia?" Reo asked his wife who was looking around curiously.
"Hmm...There is. If you don't mind, can you get me one of those funny looking thing wrapped in plastic on their circular base and was placed on a stick? It looks yummy." Emelia suggested as her eyes peered towards the lollipop.
"That's a lollipop, Emelia." Reo told her before picking a few off the counter and buying them.
"A loli pop?" An image popped up in Emelia's mind. To be honest, Demi was populated by a few Japanese summoned heroes who had spread a word about little girls categorized as 'loli's so that brought Emelia to a contemplation.
"No," Reo once thought the same as he was influenced for a few centuries in that world before returning but he had got a hang of things now. "I don't know why it's named like that either, but trust me, it isn't a loli in a pop."
"Ah, now that's good." Emelia took the lollipop handed towards her and hurriedly unwrapped it, and placed it inside her mouth. Sweetness instantly filled her mouth as she sucked on it on satisfaction.
Suddenly, a few pale looking people came inside the store.
They looked like they were on drugs, with a few as thin as a bamboo while some as fat as a balloon.
They looked around the store before staring at Emelia with their lewd gaze.
"Hey..." They initiated a conversation with Emelia as their hands silently, and slowly went closer to the raven haired woman.
...
Emelia and Reo exited the store. Reo had an expressionless and dark face as he held Emelia's hand tight in his.
Emelia was happy for his protection.
The group that arrived earlier wanted to molest her and even take her away from her husband, she was prepared to dirt her hands again when Reo punched them.
That lightened up the stressed reaction Emelia felt when she misunderstood Reo was cheating.
"Emelia, don't let other's touch you easily. Especially people like them." Reo scolded Emelia who was staring at him with her sparkling ruby eyes.
"I understand, dear. I won't hesitate next time so don't blame me if something happens again." Emelia pursued a smile and chuckled softly.
"Eh..." Reo sighed, also knowing what Emelia's intentions were.
He thought about it and realized that she had already held back herself a lot, if she hadn't, there'd be tons of death like the first time they met.
The two walked back to the park and returned to the bench Reo had his eyes on.
Emelia sat down and teared down the packaging of the pudding and ate it with joy.
While Reo was preparing the bench, he glanced at Emelia.
"Emelia,"
Emelia looked at him and squinted her eyes.
"How are you here?"
And he was met with a reply of tears.
Panicked, Reo quickly scooped Emelia to his embrace and trembled as he said, "Well, it's not like I'm doubting you. I am just curious Emelia, I somewhat heard from a source that it's impossible to have another worlder to appear in Earth...You know what I mean...?"
Emelia still cried. She cocked her head down and covered her mouth.
"E-Emelia, don't cry. Please!"
Emelia lowered her head and sobbed.
"Ah...Fine! Forget about my question, Emelia. Just don't cry anymore, it worries me..."
And, Emelia raised her head and stopped crying.
"Now, it's your turn to answer mine, Reo-kun~♥"
Emelia stared at her husband and then presented a question, "Why have you suddenly disappeared? Do you hate my cooking?"
Reo looked at her and shook his head.
