groaning loudly, I try to turn over , the jingling of the chains waking me from my deep sleep . I slowly open my eyes to let them adjust to the sunlight seeping into the dark recesses of my basement . I sit up and lean against the concrete wall ,sending a chill through my body from the bare skin contact . I rub the back of my neck and look over to the key just out of reach , I release an annoyed sigh and struggle to reach it ."This is such a fucking hassle !" I nearly shout .
A few hours later I finally get released and finish my shower , After I settled down I received a phone call . I look at the caller " The sheriff ....? " I say confused .
"Hello, This is Dan ." I say as normal as I could manage .
"Heya Dan ,this is sheriff Tristian. I have a mighty big ask for you , Do you think you could photograph a crime scene. It ....is pretty gruesome, so if not can I borrow some of your gear . I would return it right away, I would call the state boys to send their guy but I'm worry about the condition of the scene ." he said pleading .
I sigh slightly "Of course sheriff , just text me the location and I will show up to help . Do you want me to pick up anything while I'm on my way ?" I asked being polite , a silence was overwhelming the line and a soft grunt broke it .
" No, just get here asap. Also , it's for the best for you to not eat yet ." He replied .
After the call ended I got a chill through my body "This ...is not going to be good for me , calling it right now ." I said to myself as I went to grab my gear .
Seeing the address I knew where it was immediately. "This is the camp ground, what could of happened ?" I thought as I drove to my destination . Arriving to the camp ground I saw the three police cars from our small towns police station . Stepping out of my car I caught a sent , something dead and rotting , blood and adrenalin. " Oh shit ...who ..who died ?" I thought to myself as I walked up to the yellow tape .
" Hey Dan ...sorry you have to see this ." Deputy Anderson said glumly as he lifted up the tape for me to get through.
"Thanks Anderson , But when the police call for help I can't just say no. You guys need help every now and then too , and I don't mind lending a hand ." I said to him kindly . He nodded as thanks and and pointed me in the direction of the crime scene .Following the marked trail I eventually come across the bloody scene , three campers torn to pieces . Blood seeping out of the gashes , some dried but not completely . My eyes went wide ,but the sheriff snapped me out of shock .
"Thanks for doing this Dan , I'll point out what I need photographed . If it gets to much for you I can finish them . " he explained , I nodded and started taking the photos he wanted me to take . After an hour we finally finish . I then begin to notice some thing , When the sheriff was talking on his radio I took pictures of the trees . " Massive claw marks with blood along them . " I think to myself . I was then called over by the sheriff .
"Hey , you can leave now if you want . Just get those to the station when you get the chance ." he said in a thankful tone . Though I wasn't quite done yet .
"Sheriff , do you mind if I take a few pictures of the surrounding area . You never know if it could help ." I said kindly . He thought for a minute but then gave me a serious look .
"That would be helpful , but if you find anything let me know ASAP . This seems like an animal attack ,but you can never be too safe ." he explained , I agreed and moved on . Once I was out of view I begin to sniff the air , it stank .
" I recognize this smell ." I think to myself .I moved around to see if I can zero in on the source, but once I get to a certain point I lose it "Fuck , this is not good . This smell , it's a werewolf . A full blooded werewolf ." I growl slightly . Moving back to the sheriff's position I see him talking to two grieving woman . Looking at them you could tell they were different . One had sun kissed skin with white dyed hair with wicca tattoo's on her arms , she was dressed in hiking gear. The other had almost white porcelain skin and black hair with a gothic outfit covering her . As I approached their attention fell onto me , they had tears in their eyes and a look of contempt . I look at the sheriff .
"I'm finished , I will have the photos at the station a few hours after I render and touch them up to get them as clear as possible . " I tell him , he nods and motions for me to go . I walk passed him and don't look at the girls, Knowing if I was in the same situation I wouldn't want anyone staring at me .
A few hours later I was working on the photos when a knock came to my door . I saved my progress and went to answer it . Before I could it flew open from an unseen force revealing the two girls , They stormed in and held their hands up towards me . Suddenly a strong force sent me flying across the house and slammed me into the wall . I was held in place as the girls walked up to me threateningly .
"Did you enjoy it , did you enjoy killing our coven you monster !" the one with white hair shouted ,I was fighting to answer until a group of knives flew from the kitchen and hovered in front of me.
"Admit to it , or you will be neutered dog ." the black haired girl said in a monotoned voice .My eyes began to glow a golden brown as I pulled myself off the wall .
"I didn't kill your friends !" I growled at them , they seemed amazed I was fighting their power . Then the group of blades flew towards me , I managed to avoid a few but was hit by two of them . One in my arm and the other in my leg. I whimpered slightly and reared back in a defensive stance as I attempted to stay away from the girls .
" Talk now !" they both said in unison , I glared at them and growled slightly .
"I didn't do it , but a pure blood did . I could smell him out in the woods ." I said beginning to get dizzy from my blood loss .
"Shit I think I nicked his artery Gwen !" one of the girls said as I began to lose my balance .
"Who cares , they died he dies ." another voice said sounding like I was farther away .
Just then I was jolted awake by a strong force in my chest causing me to shoot up , but something stopped me . I look down and see ....my chains .
"Did I dream th-" I was cut off by the sent of the two girls , I could hear them up stairs .
" Well we can't keep him down there chained up Gwen !" one of the girls shouted in a scared voice .
"Well no shit Stacy , but we have little to no alternatives right now ." the other girl said in an equally scared tone . I stand up and feel fine , looking at my arm and leg
"I'm healed already ?" I said in a confused tone . I look around and see my key , it's closer then it normally is so I reach it easily . Once unlocked I debated on what to do .After some time I decide to risk it , I go up the stairs and open my basement door . Walking into the living room ,the two girls see me and jump up ready to fight . I toss my hands up in surrender.
"Wait wait wait , I don't want to fight. Let's just talk ." I say as calmly as I could .
"You have nothing to say ,that we want to hear !" the woman in gothic clothes known as Gwen said .
" Look , I didn't kill your friends . I can prove it ." I explain , both of the girls eyed me suspiciously. I slowly walk over to a closet and pull out a disk from a small dvd like player . I walk over to my computer and put it in . " This is my security footage from the basement last night ." I press play and show them both the recording . They look at each other with wide eyes and then back to me.
"We are so so sorry !" Stay said in a shocked voice . I growled slightly and glared at them .
"If you would of asked me I would of showed you in the first fucking place !" I said scolding them .
"Hey we said we were sorry !" Gwen said getting angry . I stood up and get in her face .
"Let me stab you twice and you tell me if a sorry will cover it , now both of you get out of my....." I stop and sniff the air . I move slowly to the light switch and turn it off . I go to the window and glance outside .
" What the fuck are you doing ?" Gwen asked confused .
"It's here , I can smell it . It might of smelled my blood from when you stabbed me , It smells a wounded wolf . So it wants to knock off the alpha of the territory to clam it for itself ." I say making a guess .
The girls rushed next to me and hid behind the wall , when I looked back out I saw it . Its glowing yellow eyes piecing my very soul . "Girls run, run now! " I shout as the werewolf smashes through the window . When it did we all ran out the back door , they ran towards the road but I head to the shed .
" Were the hell are you going !?!?" Stacy shouted as she still ran .
"Head to the police station , It wants me !" I reach the shed as I hear the back door shatter to wooden bits . I kick down the door and grab my gun , before I could aim it I was tackled .
" I smell your fear and your blood , I can't wait to feast on you." it said in a guttural voice .Suddenly a click could be heard .
"Good luck with that ." I say as I shoot my gun into it's gut , it reared back and howled in pain . I took aim again and unload a few more shots . They hit it in the arm, leg and face . It glared at me and took off back into the woods . I watch it and wait till it's gone before letting my guard down . I rush back inside and grab the photos , hop into my car and head towards the police station . As I arrive the police were leaving the station in a rush . When Sheriff Tristian saw me he ran to my car .
"Dan , are you alright . The two girls came in and started yelling about a wild animal attacking you !" he shouted . I nod and park the car and get out .
" Yeah and it was the biggest wolf I have ever seen." I said as I handed him an SD card . He looked at it .
"What's this ?" he asked
"The pictures from the crime scene , after I shot it I ran back inside to get them for you guys ." I said with a small grin .
" Wow ..thanks Dan . Well we are going to head over to you house and make sure the wolf is gone . I think it's best to stay at the inn tonight , I call Hannah on the way and get you a room . If you could , would you watch over the girls tonight ?" he asked , I nodded
" Sure thing , can do ." I said in a less then ecstatic voice . He chuckled at me and got into his car .
